Rock Stars
I just watched a bio-pic documentary about the rock band Motley Crue, called "The Dirt". All I can say guys is if we were able to get really friendly and tight with a couple of Rock Stars........ we would suddenly have dozens of killer captures coming out of our ears!!!!

Re: Rock Stars
In my youth I worked second shift, I took a bus into work and in the summer I walked home and in the winter I had a regular cab that would pick me up at quitting time. I got to be pretty good friends with one of the drivers and he cut me deals if he had other fairs he could combine me with. One night the rock band Heart was playing in town, and one of their roadies was going to the all night laundromat to do the whole crews laundry. They had the trunk and bags in the back seat.. I was so tempted to see if $10 could have got me a pair of Nancy WIlson's panties. She was hot back in the day.. I guess they don't have laundry on the tour bus...

Re: Rock Stars
The mind boggles at the thought of what captures there would have been. As for reggind's temptation to offer $10, I can't help wondering if it would have been met with a positive reply. I personally have memories, as back in the day I promoted some gigs and worked with some great bands, although not big named ones.
I always made sure the hospitality (alcohol) was flowing in the dressing room, so got on well with them. At the end of the gig I would do a general announcement, inviting anyone who would like to meet the band to come to the dressing room. Without fail there would always be a queue of girls at the door. Most would be invited in to have a drink with the guys.
There was one band however, that I worked with a lot and the lead singer was not only good looking, but also liked to take advantage of the fact! He was always first at the dressing room door and would pick a girl, who he would take into the back of the band van. He actually went on to sing with a big named band. While he was with that band, I always suspect from what I heard, that his charms worked on the female vocalist who was quite well known in the UK back then. Eventually he became a solo artist and had some success. He was never massive, but did produce a video that became iconic.
Whenever I see that video, I can't help smiling and thinking of Alan (he changed his name with the known band and as a solo artist) returning from his time with the girl and grinning from ear to ear.

I stand corrected by yeppie. Apparently he was very big in some countries and I didn't know that, but It's a nice thing to hear!emmpet8 wrote: 05 Apr 2019 11:58 Eventually he became a solo artist and had some success. He was never massive, but did produce a video that became iconic.

Re: Rock Stars
I've met a few music-related people in hotels before. E.g. I met a British hard rock group - not very well known,
but good enough to have professionally-made music videos for their hits, e.g. on YouTube. They were in London
for a gig.
I've also spoken with a very well known (in the UK) black artist, and with a manager of a very famous
(internationally known) UK pop star. Actually, I shocked this manager when I confessed to her that I had
never heard of this pop star before. (I had just returned to the UK after living abroad for a few
years, where I had almost completely lost touch with anything to do with popular culture.)
