Upstairs neighbors, semi sucess?
So, been here for a year and my neighbors are always at it above me. I can hear the bed squeak all the time, but thats it. The apartments are newly built and they are freaking sound proof. I can hear anything they do. I've tried everything.

I bought this and I still can't pick up their sounds. At this point I thought maybe they aren't having sex and it's some other noise, but I kept trying.
Finally, I put pizo mic from above link in my closet facing their room. So their closet is right above me and it faces their room and I think I picked up some sounds. My laptop is at repair shop so I can't edit anything at the moment.
So here are the raw files if anyone wants to have a go at cleaning it up.. The recordings are made from the thick pizzo type mic above plugged into my zoom h1n.

(the clear human noises are my roomates making noise in their sleep. The faint moans is the person above
Today was the best recording I got from them. I was listening on headphones while recording and I could hear her moaning faintly. There might be a tv noise too, it's hard to tell if it's her or thee tv. Also, if anyone wants to recommend better things to try? I've tried putting the mic in smoke alarm, I've tried it in the vent, windows, etc and I still can't pick up much.. Mainly because there is so much ambient noise, I'm assuiming the ambient noise is coming from AC, fans etc. I try to shut off everything in my room, but still there is so much ambient noise that over powers and I can't figure out where it's coming from. So I'm assuming its from above or the bathroom that is connected to my room. Either way, it seems impossible to catch them and I don't really like walking around the apartments to maybe hear from outside. My room is the best shot I got, and I can't figure out what would be best.
all help would be welcomed as they go at it quite a bit and for hours. Idk how they have so much stamina, but they literally go at it for an hour, take a break and back again on some nights. I would love to catch clearer sound...

You should try recording their love making session from outside maybe that will help a little bit you just gotta be careful about it tho

Them being above you makes it a bit of a pain. If you're willing to spend a decent chunk of dinero, I cannot recommend the Nikkei device linked below enough. I've been using it with a Zoom recorder to snag clear recordings through a wall of my now former neighbors that lived next to me. Best bet would be to duct tape the sensor to the ceiling, which will snag anything in their room while limiting noise pick up coming from your place and next to you.
It ain't cheap, to say the least, but without something like this device, I think you're gonna be shit out of luck. That background/ambient noise in the recordings is rough.

Isn't that similar to the device i posted above? All these were recorded by this device:ARedRuse wrote: ↑29 Jul 2020 09:00 Them being above you makes it a bit of a pain. unless you are saying nikkei device is even more powerful. Also, I'm in the states and can't seem to find a usa vendor from quick google search. The items on ebay you lined are not available to be shipped to my location.

Yeah my bad, just saw that wire mic thing the first time. Try duct taping the one like the Nikkei sensor to the ceiling; you want to avoid holding it while recording. Ditch that weird looking wire mic, any even slight movement you make is going to create background noise with that while holding it.
I'm in the US as well, bought it from the bottom link I posted. But give the similar sensor with your device a shot on the ceiling first.

Re: Upstairs neighbors, semi sucess?
yea the best way to capture the love making sessions honestly would be better if you captured it from outside instead of inside because of that isolation makes it harder to hear the sounds so you should the outdoor option of recording instead of the indoor option

Re: Upstairs neighbors, semi sucess?
Can someone please check these or edit them. I know they were having sex and definitely heard her over the headphone, I'm just too exhausted to listen through it right now.
My freaking h1n kept dying and I couldn't find any batteries. But here are some files I did manage to capture. They seem to still going, but can't get my recorder to stay up.
