Hi everybody,
I share you a little tip to improve the voice sound quality of a mp3 files. I found it out very recently, after many manipulations and tries, I'm not a specialist in audio treatment, so far.
It's not a miraculous solution and it works more or less depending, I suppose, of the quality of the recorder, of the "sound environment" and many other parameters,
but it has been useful for me on some records. I suppose there is other ways to explore.
You must have Audacity application and firstly load a mp3 file.
After, go to menu "effects" then "normalize", set only "Remove DC offset (center on 0.0 vertically)" and click OK.
Then, always on menu "effects" select "compressor" and set manually the values to the following:
Threshold : -60db (minimum)
gate noise : -20db (maximum)
Ratio : 10:1 (maximum)
Attack : 0,1s (minimum)
Release: 1,0s (minimum)
then OK.
I have tried on all mp3 files provided by jojolapin and others also, and the result is a little bit spectacular on most files, anyhow for me.
It doesn't correct all the audio defects but could be a good beginning.
I think it works better than directly use the noise suppression and high/low pass filter or notch filter.
I wish you a Happy New Year.
