Holy Fail

Hello everyone.

Early this summer I came to the realization that with my new job I simply was not going to find myself in hotels very much. It was a pity but I made due by discovering the wonders of a local park near my place. Almost every evening there would be at least one couple going at it in their car. I managed to capture a few (which I will post in my M-Series, which I promise to get going again...). Audio through car doors obviously isn't all that great so I told myself that the Holy Grail would to be to get a recording of a couple doing it outside amongst the wilderness. My first crack at it I only later realized my mic wasn't nearly close enough (again this will feature in the M-Series). The 2nd effort was a full moon and I was unfortunately spotted and the couple moved to some other point. And the 3rd chance I got happened just a few weeks ago...

I was cruising through area and it had been a noticeably quiet evening on the capture front. I was heading down one of the hot spots and I spotted a car with it's door light on. As I got closer I realized the passanger door was open and I young woman (22ish?) was leaning in looking for something. She looked about 5' 5" with medium length blonde hair. She was in a form fitting short sparkling green clubbing dress and had her panty hoes around one ankle. I couldn't believe my luck!

I went about 50m passed even though she barely even seemed to notice me. I turned into the bank of thick bushes and trees that her and her companion were sure to be in. I walked further into the foliage because I figured if they were on the lookout, they would keep their eyes on the street side of them. I remember my heart was pounding as I slowly walked towards where I thought they might be and the possibilities that lay ahead. I got only about 20m back to their direction when I remember hearing faint female panting. It was the Grail and it was extremely hot! I slowly walked towards the beautiful sounds and they slowly became more audible.

By the sounds of it, I guessed they were still about 20m away but then directly in front of me I saw a big black shape shuffle! Immediately I panicked! It must be them! I had just stepped into a patch of moonlight! For sure I was spotted! Cover seemingly blown, my mind went into idiocy mode. I did the only thing that seemed sane at the time. I attempted to make an innocent but loud throat clearing sound as I tossed my USB recorder to a near by tree. I then confidently walked off in the same direction I was headed.

As I walked away (closer to their car), I didn't hear any noise from them behind me but I did hear what sounded like a couple in the trees a little further down. Idiot mode me's only thought was "wow... is there another couple doing it right here?". Never once did it occur to me that those noises were the couple.

I decided to lay low and let my recorder do the work for a good 15-20 minutes. Their car was still parked there so I had high hopes, I then doubled back to the spot where I had seen the big black shape move. I sneakily got closer and closer and then discovered... I was confused but assumed they were working their way back to their car. Sure enough I saw their car lights go on and it drove off.

I started to search the area for my recorder and found plenty of objects, cans... food tins.. it looked like items a homeless man might carry. I finally found my recorder and headed off. It was only later that night when I started listings to the sound of nothing but the night sky that it dawned on me that the voices I heard ahead of me was the couple... and I recorded (and scared off) a homeless person who was innocently sleeping in the park.

It almost isn't a disheartening experience because the situation was incredibly thrilling and sexy but it certainly didn't end as well as it could have. I've since been back to the spot during the day and the spot I originally thought they were was simply too far away from their car.

Thanks a lot for the great story, seems you were really close to the goal... it is always a pity if you cannot make the score but there will be for sure further options

That is a sad story, but there is a moral in it. The USB recorders I got a couple years back were like $8 on Amazon back than. I am pretty sire that they have not gotten any more expensive. Buy a few of them, and do as you did, pitch them as you walk. You might also look for places that you know people use and try hiding a fully charged one there before it gets dark out.

I just want you all to know I think I might finally be over this one. It is what it is. not much more I could've done. Well I just panicked I think. I could've been more patient, it was right there! UGH, not over it at all. haha
