My most profound apologies.... should have posted this ages ago!
I was cleaning out some old files and found this one. A long hotel recording from last July. No radio this time. Never saw them, but she sounds beautiful.

EXCELLENT recording, man! Thanks a TON for sharing...but you've gotta give us a little more info: this is so clear, how'd you get it? Where were they, where were you? Whatever you got, let us know, please!

Re: Reg's Vault - Keeper from last summer
The old hands should just skip this post - they've heard it before ....
I travel periodically for business - the expense account lets me stay in middle to upper range hotels... Marriot, Hilton, etc
I have a couple of Olympus digital voice recorders and two small microphones - one omni directional that is inside a ball point pen housing - with about 15" of cord... and a miniature cardioid microphone with a 12" cord... bought the pen mic on eBay and the other from Big Squid Audio...
I have one of those Sonic Ear microphones and a set of light weight headphones.
Technique - I'll wander the hotel hallways - sometimes I come across a couple headed back to their room, sometimes I come across a room with the "Do Not Disturb" sign already on the doorknob... if I can determine that they are "gettin' busy" - I can get one of the microphones just under their door - plug it into the recorder - push record and hope for a good result... hallway noise, TV's, etc can detract from the overall quality.
I'll typically cover the microphone and recorder with a magazine or a white hand towel... and step away from the recording rig - I have moved the "do not disturb" sign before -- to enhance the illusion that the towel or magazine is a "sign" to a off site roommate that the room is in use and to go away for a while --- kind of like hanging a tie on the outside of the dorm room door to let your roommate know he should find somewhere else to watch Late Nite with David Letterman.
- I had almost two solid weeks of travel last summer - I had intended to edit the recordings on my laptop while I was out... didn't quite happen the way I planned and I ended up with six or seven "data" dumps where I just downloaded everything and planned on separating out the good stuff from the other later.
From the download dates and my journal entries - I think this was from Richmond, Virginia but it could be Raleigh, NC... definitely not Memphis though.
