As a general question first:
Is there any interest in real life meetings ... like a regular´s table / "Stammtisch" but only once, initially?
Or asked the other way round: are there any reservations from the board admins / group of elders?
And in particular:
I could think of a nice afternoon or evening with some of you guys in a bar or "Biergarten" (summer is coming) somewhere near my place, which means between Dortmund and Hannover / Osnabrück and Kassel. I noticed there are a few active members posting from that area. Could be nice talking about our experience and ideas, not necessarily limited to sexsounds
I thought about this for some time now and would like to know your ...

You´d be welcome of course but would you be able to communicate in German? I wouldn´t ask if I had an international / European meeting in mind but if it were a regional one, it seems favorable to me at first glance.

In general:
I like your idea, roleph and offer my assistance if needed.
Thought about this before but never aimed to realize ... although I once met a member during a work trip and had some phone calls with another one years ago.
A regional meeting means fewer hurdles to implementation, so I´d go for that. But an international Conference of SSL sounds very tempting, too
Should you be able to organize such a meeting, I´d love to read some reports afterwards.

I have thought of this in terms of a business conference format.
Downtown LA, we swarm a hotel - one member takes a floor - or a group of floors depending on how many attendees we have. Next AM we compare recordings, and give prizes to the top 3, and deliver room service breakfast to the three rooms with the addition of champagne to the room with the couple that earned our member 1st place.
That was exactly what I was imagining.. like a scavenger hunt for sounds. The idea sounds fun, but the logistics are very difficult. Not like a work trip where we can easily schedule time off and get paid to go.

I´m not that secret agent kind of guy more the Let´s meet in the beer garden agent

If we´d arrange them in English in Germany the challenge would be much greater for sure.

Isn´t that obvious Paul7979? In a regional meeting in Germany that I suggested, almost everybody from that region attending would talk German as his/hers mother tongue.

Well, we talk in English inhere and if a certain announcement for a meeting is in English one would expect to have it in English I guess. To me a meeting in Germany would be equivalent to a meeting anywhere in Europe (Germany can be reached from everywhere in Europe in max 2 hrs).. but nevertheless I'm relatively new here and I might be mistaken.
