Purely on what you say nothing at all. But check his post history and the timestamps and youll see why (as another reader also noted)

Not here to comment on whether that other person was spamming, but generally, commenting on an old post is not weird. It happens all the time. If you go to any of the main categories, you will find that some of the top posts, are archived posts that people commented on years later. If a new user just got access to the archive, it's normal that they would want to comment on new sounds they discover, however old they are.

Moreover, I myself often download sounds that I don't have time to properly listen through, but I save them for when I do. It's not uncommon that I only listen to them weeks or months later because life gets in the way, and you can be sure that if I like a sound, I'll comment on it
