Quick question about that for clarity. Are we not allowed to re-upload sounds if they've been edited with some kind of improvement? Or are we only allowed to re-upload them if they have yet to move to the archives?

Quick question about that for clarity. Are we not allowed to re-upload sounds if they've been edited with some kind of improvement? Or are we only allowed to re-upload them if they have yet to move to the archives?

There is no general allowance or rule. In June 2023 Berlun reposted a series of files of someone else shortly after they had been archived and removed in the forum. Today he re-upped the same files after his reposted files had been removed too. So this was the third upload of this 1gb series to keep them constantly in the forum.

I see. I understand why Berlun's case is not a good one for re-upload. I was just asking in general because I have occasionally re-uploaded files from others that I edited and/or corrected, but I always mention the changes I made and why. For eg, some original recordings only play on one side and I converted them to mono. All that being said, I've always done it when the original file is still available to all so they can compare. But lately I have so little time that I download files but only given them a proper listen weeks or months later, at which point they could be archived.

I don´t see a problem in what you do or the way you do it when uploading edited files here.
