Cheers Dane, glad you enjoyed it man!

Bloody frustrating this weekend. Rachel and chap both hung around until about 4:30 PM, then presumably they got tired of the noise of people moving stuff into that van and went out. I guess they must've ended up back at his place this time, because there hasn't been a sound from upstairs since. Still, if she's staying over at his place two nights in a row and heading straight to work from wherever that is, seems like they're reasonably serious already. That's good news for us.

You were absolutely right, that pigeon you thought had great rhythm and a squeaky wing, couldn't honk like a goose like your neighbour does.
To record this length of interaction involves great perseverance and nerves of steel :!:
Great storyline and excellent recording.
Here's to many more recordings of errant 'pigeons'. :P

Well, this thread is shaping up to be a lot more challenging than I expected. Every weekend since I made the original post, Rachel has disappeared, presumably to stay with her new boyfriend. Maybe there's more privacy at his place, maybe it's just nicer there... who knows. However, I've been busy preparing in the meantime, and hope to have a new catch for you soon. To bring you all up to speed:

- I now have a better idea of the layout of her flat, thanks to doing her the neighbourly favour of helping to carry some new furniture upstairs. As I suspected, the front door has line of sight to the bedroom, and so long as they keep that door open, a direct line of sight to the bed itself.
- I've devised what I think should be a solid enough alibi to be hanging around in her part of the hall. It requires a few props and a minute or so of preparation to be at its most convincing, but that time is worth taking IMO. It's pretty much a one-use cover story, so let's hope I don't need it anytime soon.
- Also a quick update on the movement in the flat next to Rachel that I mentioned a few weeks ago - the couple did indeed move out. They were replaced a few days later by a young English couple. Haven't heard a thing out of them yet, but I can only just hear them laughing from my flat and my alibi doesn't extend as far as their door, so not sure I'll have much luck with them unless she turns out to be super loud.

But back to Rachel - how come I can be sure of new material?

Well, for starters I've already got some. I left a recorder running over new years eve just in case. It was disguised as post for me and left in the shared entrance. Nowhere near close enough to her door to match the recording that I'd get by actually being here, but it being new years eve and me being a musician by trade, I had the obligatory dirty pub gig to play and no chance of getting back to London by the time that finished. Even so, flicking through the file on the recorder, I can hear 4 pretty good sessions that weren't masked out by the damn fireworks/party-goers. It appears Rachel and Chap spent the one night when I couldn't be here here... sod's law. Also, about 20 mins before I started to write this post, Chap arrived again with a bunch of flowers and what smelled like an excellent Chinese takeout dinner.

So, if all however-many-hundred community members we have here would care to keep their fingers crossed for the rest of the night, I'll do my best to capture what festivities there may be. If I don't have any luck tonight with grabbing another session as good as the one that started all this though, the NYE posts will be coming soon.

Thanks, scott-uk,

your descriptions are adding a lot to the experience. Don't keep us waiting for too long.
Looking forward to the recordings already.

Cheers

Hell, recording or not, I loved reading the setup. Of course, a recording is always greatly welcomed

So yeah, Chinese food and flowers seemed to do the trick... ;)

Also caught this one this morning. Her alarm goes off during the action and at the end you can hear her say something like "I've got 27 minutes, but I'll do it" presumably to get to work.

I've left the approach to and retreat from the recording spot in these ones because I kinda liked the suspense. You can hear how slowly and carefully I have to move to avoid the squeakier floorboards and stairs. Taken to calling it the creeping gauntlet of doom.

Well, at the very least there's the recordings from NYE to sift through and post. They literally spent the whole evening/following morning going at it every hour or so during waking hours, with two sessions during the night from what I can make out. Most of it is too faint to bother posting I think, but I'll make time to clean up the best of it and get it up here whenever supplies of fresh files run dry. Not expecting much from this weekend as I've never known them to stay at her place twice in a row, but I've arranged to be around just in case.

Hi scott,

not at all - the more faint sound files are exciting! So don't hesitate to share. I do like them even more than those that sound as you're standing next to the bed :)

Thanks

I agree with you 100 percent, Advisor. The faint sound captures are the absolute best because they are not boring, pre-arranged sound recordings of prostitutes or boring, pre-arranged soundtracks lifted from amateur porn videos. They are REAL, voyeur captures of REAL lovers in the distance chatting, laughing and having fun. Ten times better.

Sorry to do this so publicly chaps...

*yawn* seriously, if I didn't know better I'd assume you were some sort of spam bot going on your last few posts. It doesn't offend me in the slightest if you find my latest lucky streak "boring", your turn-ons and turn-offs are your own business, but either give me some constructive critique (that doesn't look like it's been copy and pasted) or just move on to find something more to your taste. There's really no need for your buzz words ("pre-arranged", "prostitutes" or "amateur") to make an appearance in this thread unless you're suggesting that it applies to the files found here. For the record, it doesn't.
Quadrophenia1 wrote:They are REAL, voyeur captures of REAL lovers in the distance chatting, laughing and having fun.
So people who put time into scoping out the opportunity, invest money into good equipment and risk their asses when the action gets going are somehow lesser voyeurs? No! I've left some cuddle-time content at the end of each file - as much of it as I can before withdrawing for my own safety. When I get time to upload some Rachel from a distance, you'll notice that there isn't any chatter/laughter audible because the science of how sound reverberates and travels makes capturing both extremes unlikely without specialist gear. Ironically, a certain regular contributor uploads files that have everything that you're looking for, and I'd bet my balls that every file is fake. I shan't name and shame them, but I don't crop up in their threads and ruin the party for the people who obviously do get pleasure out of their piss-poor posts. Enjoy...

What a funny, funny man you are!
Got an example to cite? Perhaps we could run a poll.

Hahaha, I heartily disagree with the idea that this devalues any of the other great content that's been upped here lately. Thanks for the complement though, glad you're enjoying it dude :)
TheAdvisor wrote:the more faint sound files are exciting! So don't hesitate to share. I do like them even more than those that sound as you're standing next to the bed
Yeah, I was totally with you on that until this happened. I guess the kick for me in this series is going from hearing her faintly at a distance and imagining the detail to actually getting this much detail. I guess you need to have had one to appreciate the other though, so I'll find time to get some of the NYE material cleaned up for your enjoyment as soon as I can.

Question for everyone: The best distant capture I have of her is happening at the same time as the guy on the floor below is saying his prayers very loudly. Personally, I found the contrast weirdly funny, but it's an unusual one isn't it! Anyone likely to take offense?
