thoughts on open recruiting on other sites

great to hear everyone's thoughts. personally i feel more comfortable if people aren't leaving references or pleas to join this forum in open comment sections on reddit and youtube, etc. i don't see much harm in direct messaging content uploaders on other sites, but i think it makes this community a bit more vulnerable to leave invitations in public comment sections.

Yes I sent you a private message as it was very clear you was a 1st class contributer of original recordings who looked like he wanted to share with like-minded people and I decided you belong here with us

That is 1 out of 2 PMs I ever sent, the other was to [whats his name again, he had many recordings on youtube about 1.5 yr ago and after he got deleted he had a new account with [Name - lover] as a nickname. I don't think he ever joined our forum though.

Personally I think this whole community is kept going by a 'hardcore' core + a larger group of people who are seriously involved and connected and comment and sometimes share out of love for what the site is about, not as a 'plan' only to get to the archives. The rest are just leechers who take but will never give. IF they are allowed to stay, then there is never no need to source more leechers. PMs to good contributors is great, and the true lovers will find this forum at some point down the line anyway organically..
