I only heard him that one night and never saw him or any other potential male visitor to her apartment since.
He was probably just a one-night-stand.
IMO, he could've been her steady boyfriend from her home town, whom she met before she went to college,
and this was just a one-off session they had when he happened to travel over to visit her. (Had he been a guy
she met at college, then, most likely, they would be having sex at his place.)
I'm making this guess based on my own experiences from university. The only situations I heard of - and I can recall
at least 3 cases - when female students would bring guys over to stay with them, was when those men were steady
boyfriends but were living in another town or country.
But, of course, that doesn't mean to say they won't go on dates and have one-night stands with other guys while
they're at college.
I actually went on dates with 2 of those women I'm referring to - but just for drinks, because they made it clear
to me beforehand that they had boyfriends. One was from Korea with an English boyfriend, and the other student
was from somewhere in Lancashire.
The third female student I knew was Spanish and was doing a computing degree. I remember her telling me
that her boyfriend was flying over from Spain to stay with her.
However, a female
exchange student - who's only there for a year - might not give a damn and bring a guy back
to her place for sex.
Like an exchange student from Germany I knew, for example. I didn't go out on a date with her, but I could
tell she fancied me when we were sitting opposite one another one day, just chatting and drinking mint
tea (or whatever it was). She was really warming up to me, gazing into my eyes, and smiling. She was a nice
person, but I just didn't find her physically attractive, so I kept my distance. (She had chestnut-coloured bob cut
hair, wore glasses, and was overweight.)
Anyway, I was later told, by a male architecture student, whose room was next to hers, that she was having sex
with a German-speaking dude, because he could hear everything and was laughing about the whole thing when
he told me. The only German-speaking guy I knew at the time, who knew her, was an exchange student from
Austria (tall and slim). But it may not have been him. It could've been a boyfriend from Germany, or some
German student she met on campus, I don't know.
