No, you can not upload a recording that has been produced by hiding a device in your friends apartment.

Regarding "privacy":

There is no absolute privacy and there is no 100% moral clarity but there are grades of privacy and there are distinct gradiations. The guidelines that we decided to follow are not individual morals but legal limits. And most laws pretty clear distinguish between invading somebody´s privacy by bugging other persons´ rooms, phones, or other devices on the one side and listening to and reproducing what can be heard more or less publicly.

For our community this means pretty exactly what sndprv explained and what should be clear from our written rules. Your rooms, streets, hotel floors, ... are locations that are generally accessible and recordings taken there may lead to irritations but shouldn´t get you in legal trouble. Planting a device inside another person´s private rooms will probably bring you in jail if you get busted.
I definitely advise against bragging about planning and committing such a crime in a more or less public forum.

As for the legal part ? well, i can 100% guarantee you 99.9% of the materials on this forum are deemed illegal, like it or not.

I personally, will respect this forum rules and won't upload my stuff (I mean, i hit my recording pinnacle anyway).
But i will also look at this forum different from now on, since i was always under the impression you guys knew that what you are doing is wrong but accepted it as no one gets hurt in the process.
Yet now i see that you guys think that what you are doing is 100% right, which make me suspect some of you are beyond the thin line of a normal curious person.
