Thanks physicist. To reduce file size you could begin with a lower bitrate. Youtube clips often are audio encoded (as mp4 for example) with 72 or 96 kbps. Upcoding isn´t usefull.
Then there are tools like 7zip that Audio and I have recommended a few times, for example here.

But if you want to do so, it might make sense to keep on your plan and upload them in the corresponding section anyway because you then can provide some more detailed background story than ever possible on youtube...
