Thanks a lot for the latest and can't believe my memory was right about the previous Turkish couple.

In his comments about the first couple, sndprv mentions the problems of spikes in one of the USBs;

To avoid these ear splitting moments I listen to all recoding's zoomed in using the Waveform view in Audition. That way you can quickly hop over them. Particularly useful if you use headphones like I do.

Regarding those periodic noise spikes in the UKCarSex136-USB1 and UKCarSex138-USB1 files:

It's the same USB that got damaged last year when it was positioned too close to a car's engine.
The magnetic field from the car's electric motor messed up the hard drive (this has happened before
with another device I had).

I'll try to avoid using it again. But I'm trying to cover 3 different car parks on some nights with a small number
of devices. I've tried shopping around for new devices over the past few months, but it's been difficult to find
reliable suppliers since this scamdemic started.

So, I took the liberty of giving 140 the old stereo treatment using both files - I had a suspicion the source recordings would be well suited to this and I think I was right. I had to trim about 5:30 off the start because one of the tracks had a tiny bit missing somewhere before that, which meant they wouldn't align in time all the way through and I don't have the skills to deal with that more skilfully than just shifting the whole channel. All it means is this edit starts just before they get out of the car, so all the good stuff is still there. I also trimmed the end, and faded both ends. I'd be interested to hear what anyone thinks of this. (I did also try noise reduction but, as expected, it wasn't an improvement - I'd sooner have the hiss than have it sound like it's playing in a bucket)
