I've met (and known) quite a few South Africans living in UK. Most of the white South Africans
I've met worked in hospitality (hotels, restaurants, pubs and event organising). The few
black South Africans I've met worked in the care sector or nursing.

I came close to dating a black girl when I was 16, after she sent me a love letter, which I failed to respond to.
