Comedian Bill Maher had an American statistical expert on his HBO show a couple of weeks ago. He said statistics are pointing out that young American Latinos and American Black men are continuing to have sex at a "normal" rate. However.... only one out of three American White men under the age of 30 has had sex during the past year. THAT'S INSANE. Maybe part of the reason for the so-called "creepy" behavior these women are complaining about is due to these shocking statistics?

I blame the decline in real parenting and socialization of young men coupled with the influence of the worst corners of social media.

So young blacks and Latinos are normal while young white men are becoming creepy?

Or maybe these men don't want to be perceived as being 'creepy'?
I'll tell you something my Swedish ex-girlfriend (a single mother) once told me while we were dating.
She asked me why I didn't approach her and ask her out when we first met in the gym. (She almost
looked upset when she asked me.)
She would come up to me in the gym and speak to me a few times, but it was she who eventually asked
me to go out together for a drink (I was about to do some bench pressing at the time
).
I told her that, back in the UK, the way things have now become, that could be seen as being 'sexual harassment'.
I also told her that I assumed she was either married or had a boyfriend, and I didn't want to look like a fool.
Another reason was/is that I take my gym sessions very seriously, and I'm not really there to socialise. But I'll
talk with someone if they speak to me first.

That's a lot of very good perceptions there. Personally I think the "Me Too" movement ruined normal social interaction between men and women and critically destroyed dating in general. As you said, nowadays any attempts at asking a woman out for a date could be seen as a threat or "harassment" regardless of how innocent looking the attempt is, and making us (men) completely guilty without even giving us a chance to explain our side of things.

I read this argument very often and it seems plausible. But personally I have made the experience that dating has never been easier and less complicated (well ...) for me than at these times. Could be a matter of age and experience though or of personal behavior. I will not presume to judge.

You know, when I mentioned this to my Swedish ex, she looked at me like I was completely insane. She had been
living in Cyprus for more than a decade before she met me. She married a local guy and had 2 kids, so, perhaps,
she wasn't aware of how much things had changed in Western/Northern Europe. However, she certainly wasn't
naive about the creepy nature of certain men, because she told me she was once sexually molested in a building site
by a guy who was stalking her while she was out jogging in her younger years. (But she obviously never went into the
lurid details when I asked her about the incident, due to the trauma. She only said she allowed him to do to her what
he wanted to do, so that she would survive, because the guy was the sort who could have done her great harm.)

Both of you (you and Yeppie) made really good points. As Yeppie pointed out about personal behavior, that's one big factor. There are some guys out there who are just creepy by nature. It's their behavior. There's no changing that. Meanwhile, the majority of us are just innocent men looking to get by in life. The problem is that the few bad apples make the rest of us look bad too. What can we do about that?
