Hello again,

I attended a conference in London for work last week and stayed in a rather nice hotel in the centre of town. There was a lavish black tie dinner on the final evening and I sat at a table across from a really well dressed lady in her late thirties – curvy but not fat, with a fulsome cleavage highlighted by a low-cut black evening gown. Her long wavy black hair was a lovely contrast to the double string of pears around her neck, she was truly a class act.

The meal was followed by a cocktail reception, where I saw she was partnered with a slim younger man in a back bow tie and well cut dinner jacket. His shaven bald head was a striking feature and he wore metal framed tinted glasses and a very serious expression throughout th whole evening, which contrasted with her lovely outgoing smile. He was there to be her quiet companion, I think.

After the drinks she took his arm and he led her to the cloakroom, where she collected a very handsome, long, royal blue Burberry coat before they headed over to the elevators. I was able to clock their floor and followed close behind in the next car. I could then see them walking in silence towards the end of the corridor and was able to note their room number as they entered. This was about 9.45 in the evening.
I planted a USB about ten minutes later and heard very little until about 90 minutes after this, when I captured the recording here.

You sure lucked out on the elevator timing - that is very hard to do and almost a Hail Mary move at that point. I've done the same without the luck of seeing the couple on the floor but like in my Valentine's 2020 San Francisco - the awesome Thursday couple - I took the elevator to their floor and walked slowly until I heard them conversing. Found many couples will chit-chat right after getting into their room for a few minutes.

Sometimes I've risked riding the elevator with couples - Huntington Beach was that way. AND they had the decency to give me their room number - (What room are we in, honey? Oh, let's see.. 511) I wanted to thank them right there but prudence won the moment and I kept my mouth shut. That was right when we all got in, so I hit a different floor and then immediately went back to see if I could hear anything in the corridor.

Cool! What kind of recorder do you use? I should be small enough not to be recognized by passers-by, right?

I use the small USB recorders that can be found on Amazon. i cover them in white electrical tape and use double sided sticky tape to attach them to door frames. They're really inconspicuous.
