File corrupted while copying from usb device

Hi all,
So this morning I picked up my device from usually hot spot and was giving a listen on my phone. Success! I had made a beautiful capture...in fact 2 couples. First one sounded like they were fucking right above my device!
I tried copying the files to my phone and while doing so the copy failed and the audio file now shows as 0kb!! Anyone ever had this? Am gutted!!
I am currently without my laptop as am traveling.Just my phone (Android) with a usb adapter.Been trying some file recovery apps but does not seem to find the original file
Any tips, suggestions are welcome
