Oh you're wrong! I have this model. You can take the cuffs off, then it looks like a normal swing. And when you dont need the whole thing, you can just take it off from the hook and stow it away.

We had a swing, and it was fun and on really hot and humid days it was sweet as the A/C could circulate air all around you. I thought I had a big screw eye in one of the rafters but we were really having at it and the damn thing pulled out and I got whopped upside he head with the spring. I wound up putting a piece of 2x6 across two of the rafters and using a big threaded screw eye and a fender washer and a nylock bolt to mount it with the second time. Much better mounting.
