I can rarely say whether consent has been given, but I generally recommend it. And I also mentioned not working with a hidden recording device. On the one hand, because it is absolutely illegal and therefore prohibited here, and on the other hand, because it should then be clear to everyone involved that a recording is being made. That doesn't mean that everyone agrees to the publication, but it comes closer to it.
Cherry picking? I don't think so, but rather pointing out the right way to do things. Ultimately, the responsibility lies with the person doing the recording anyway.
