Lynn 1

Post by emmpet8 »

Here’s an excerpt from a recording made over 20 years ago and my memory isn’t clear on all the details. The full recording is 45 minutes long and finishes before he gets to fuck her (if he ever did)! I set it going on cassette and went to bed I think, wrongly presuming that 45 minutes would be enough. There is also an annoying TV programme running for the duration of the recording. The excerpt is the last few minutes and to me it sounds like she might be about to give in to his persistent requests.

The girl was staying with me and was a petite 20yo and very attractive. She had a boyfriend when she came to stay and finished with him not too long after arriving. I think this is the boyfriend, but aren’t sure if it was after they finished, or before. I think it was before, as he says something like he would be a fool to ever let her go. Not that he had a choice, as it was Lynn who gave him the boot!

If her seeming reluctance for full on sex in this recording sounds like she was shy of the idea, this isn’t the case. I know, because I overheard a couple of phone conversations to a friend. In one she told the friend that telephone chat lines (before Internet chat took off) were fine and she’d used one to meet a guy who she’d fucked on the first date. Another time she told a friend about outrageously flirting with a young married guy in front of his wife at a party. She went on to say she had given him her number and they were going to meet up. I know for a fact they did and even recorded the liaison. There was no hesitation about full on sex then!

In case anyone wants them, here are links to the full recording. You hear him say “Come here!” at about 1 min 30 secs and it goes from there. It’s up to your imagination to decide what’s happening from there on. I would be interested to hear any suggestions if anyone listens to the whole session. The excerpt is from about 41 mins 30 secs to the end.

Nice work on the restoration front, especially considering it's come from cassette!

Would love to here more of her. Do you still have that liaison with the married chap?

I have it somewhere, but it's on VHS. I realised that it afforded 6 hours of record time, so unlike cassettes, there was little chance of loosing the endings. I have quite a few boxes of VHS tapes and was going to look through them the other week, but I dug the VHS player out and all is not well. The VHS machine has a tape in it already and won't eject it and it also makes a funny noise when I try to play the tape. I'm going to look into the possibility of a repair, but that depends very much on the price. Failing that I'm going to try and borrow a VHS player. Not just for sex sounds, as apart from ones with Lynn on, there is other stuff I'd like to digitize and save. I do have a few other bits on cassette, so I'll work on those for the time being. I hope to post another of a different girl who stayed with me soon.

In the meantime if you listen to the Lynn recording, do feel free to post about anything you thinks sounds interesting on it. Apart from what I've already said I don't know any more than what I've gleaned through a quick listen. I haven't even listened to it in it's entirety yet.

Assuming you're somewhere not too remote, putting a wanted post up on your local Freecycle group might be a neat solution if you can't revive that poorly machine. I've just done the same thing, bagged me a fairly decent minidisc player (with the aim of eventually finding time to digitise my first 5 years of our little hobby).

Thanks for the tip about Freecycle, I've never looked at it before, but I will now.

Minidiscs are great and I've got some with a bit of material on. I'd forgotten all about them until recently, when I had to record some live outdoor sounds for theatre. That's also what rekindled my interest in sound.

I discovered I had two portable minidisc recorders that I'd forgotten about. The older one doesn't seem to work, but the newer one does. It's something called Hi-MD, so will record 2 hours 20 mins at SP on an 80 min disc and at LP it's over 10 hours. It also mentions 1GB discs (nearly 8 hours in SP), but I don't know if they're available.

I've also dug out a very good minidisc deck, so at the moment I'm looking in to ways of getting stuff on to the computer via optical leads. I do have an Audigy card form an old 2001 comp, but aren't sure if it will work in my much newer one. When I get time I'm going to give it a try.

Finally a question if you can help and wonder if anyone else has any knowledge or opinions on this. I transferred the Lynn stuff form cassette to the comp using a newish deck. Since then I've discovered the deck I'm pretty sure I recorded it on. Unlike the newer and simpler one, it's got three heads and options for a variety of things, including different types of tapes. Would I maybe gain anything if I used that to transfer the stuff to comp again, or would it be too minimal to be worth the effort?

I know that I could just link it up and try it, but in my opinion the imagination sometimes kicks in when it comes to hearing different qualities of sounds. That opinion comes from some work with bands in the past. One guy in particular would always ask; "Can you hear me okay?" during the sound check. I would respond by pretending to adjust settings on the desk, but change nothing and ask him to try them. His answer was nearly always along the lines of; "Yes, I think that's better!"

I'm rambling on a bit now, but any opinions about the cassette decks would be very welcome.

Very nice sounds.
Thanks for you (and her) :)

I think, on the end I heard her gasp when he put into her ...

Thanks for that. I'll listen again and even go back to the original to see if I can enhance that bit. It's not something I heard originally, but when you're repeatedly going over little bits to enhance the recording, it's becomes difficult to hear the sounds from the noise.

This is the last 38 secs of the recording. I’ve tried to reduce the volume of some of the louder bits of TV and to boost their vocalisations. I have no idea if it’s clearer or worse than the original excerpt I posted.

I’m fairly sure it starts with him saying; “Want to?” followed by a; “Yeah!” again possibly from him, so maybe she did give him a nod. There’s a smaller gasp at 6.5 secs and a bigger one at 13 secs. I’m assuming that maybe one of these is what Sonar was referring to.

Having listened to it again I think he might be right, but we’ll never know and how I wish it had been recorded on minidisk or VHS and then I think we would have found out for sure. If I’m right I think she was pretty vocal when she had her liaison with the young married guy.

To be honest dude, I don't have a clue. My only experience of tape has been mastering down onto horribly expensive reel for that "analog" sound, then deciding I didn't like it. Lusted after the type of project that would provide me the budget to track drums down to tape for years, and was totally underwhelmed with that too. Both of those scenarios are a different kettle of fish to cassette though I guess. My advice would be that if you've got time to kill, try grabbing just the last few minutes where you know there's some action to compare.

Haha, so true! Can't tell you how many times I've felt like a fool for tweaking and believing something is starting to take shape, only to notice the plugin was bypassed. Doh!

Guitarist, per chance?

I'll change my previous guess to rhythm guitarist, on the basis that lead guitarists never concede that anything is better. :P

Right first time! :) The band shared lead though.

On the subject of band politics you might find these comments from a Peavey amp manual amusing. Under QuicK Start there's a diagram of the front panel and next is the description of the input. It's as follows;

INPUT - If you are having trouble figuring out what this is then please put the amp back in the box and get some drumsticks.*

At the bottom of the page is this;

*No drummers were harmed in the making of this manual.

Yes, musicians are very creative artists. But they don't soften their words or their thoughts when they've had enough.
