My neighbour has a new boyfriend...

Post by sc0tt-uk »

So, I've mentioned a few times lately that I've been trying to find time to edit and clean up the raw files for a series. The bad news is, this still isn't it. The good news is, this is so insanely good that it's smashed its way straight through the stack of priorities. Here's some (rather lengthy) background:

I've lived in my current flat for over a year. The soundproofing is terrible, which I was quite excited about originally. Turns out that when there's nothing related to our little hobby to capture for a whole year and the most interesting activity you're overhearing is Mr Downstairs saying his prayers loudly at 6:30 AM, it becomes fucking annoying quicker than I could've imagined...

Anyway, throughout this time, the person living above me has been Rachel. That's not her real name of course, but it suits her. Rachel is a red-head in what I'd guess to be in her late 30's, perhaps early 40's at a push. She's fairly tall (somewhere around 5 ft 7-8), has a great figure (regular at the local gym), dresses feminine but super snappy when she leaves for work, but has been known to take out the bins (or trash for the Americans among us) in just her dressing gown at times of day when even slobs like me are dressed at the weekends. Mrs Sc0tt-UK met her on one such occasion and came back proclaiming "for Christ's sake, she even managed to look great hungover in her PJ's, how does the woman do it!"

In spite of being attractive and seeming easily approachable whenever we meet in the hall, Rachel leads a solitary life. Occasionally in the first few months I was here she'd have a guest arrive late, but thanks to one of those pleasant neighbourly hellos in the hall I discovered it to be her brother who was staying on her sofa each time he visited London for some sort of course. "FUCK IT", said I.

That should set the scene for you well enough. This place is hella frustrating...

Two days ago, everything changed...

Last Saturday was an insanely late night for me. I got home at gone 7 on Sunday morning, and crashed out immediately. A couple of hours later I got woken up by a sound that at first I thought was some sort of bird outside my window, perhaps a pigeon. It dimly registered that something wasn't quite right, but I'm fairly dim at the best of times, and 3 hours sleep is not what I'd call the best of times. After wishing death upon all winged things, I got up to fetch a drink, and decided there must be a pigeon stuck in the chimney because I could still hear it, along with some odd clattering and banging. I must've stood there for over a minute, drinking my drink and wondering what to do about it before my brain came off standby and realised with a jolt that unless that pigeon had great rhythm and a squeaky wing, I'd hopelessly misread the situation.

Grabbing my recorder, I slipped it into the hall and headed back into my flat to see if I could listen there in safety. It was only at that point, standing there barefoot that I noticed an irritating draft coming through a gap under my front door which, like everything else in this place is pretty badly fitted. I figured that there was a chance whoever was getting lucky would have been blessed by the same builder, and headed into the hall to track down the source. Low and behold, it was coming from Rachel's flat, and they were in full swing by the time I'd picked my way across the annoyingly creaky floorboards and snuck up some even creakier stairs. I wedged my recorder in at the base of her door, and after some thought, scarpered back to my flat to get dressed and try to collect some sort of prop that could explain my presence upstairs to anyone who might unexpectedly exit the other flat on that floor. Having drawn a total blank on coming up with an alibi, I decided to wait it out and see what the recorder got, so for the next 10 minutes I waited, praying to a God I don't believe in that nobody would get home or decide to pop out before they were done. Ten minutes later, maybe a touch longer, the activity upstairs seemed to cool down and I made a dash to retrieve the recorder. I couldn't believe the detail it had picked up. If her flat is laid out anything like mine, there's a direct line of site between the front door and bedroom door, which had to have been open to explain this level of clarity. The material was pure gold! But, the story doesn't end there...

What you're about to hear isn't that recording, because like a total fool I accidentally deleted that one as I was clearing space on the recorder in case there was more action. After half an hour tinkering with disk recovery software, I accepted that I'd lost it and went back to bed in a totally foul mood. What an idiot!

So later that day, must've been around 5 PM, I woke up and started packing up my stuff for a few days out of London. Just as I was about to leave, a pigeony sound caught my attention. I dropped what I was doing, grabbed the recorder and was almost foiled again because the disk recovery software seemed to have left it's memory card in a mess that it wouldn't record onto. Fumbling through a bunch of unfamiliar menus, I managed to switch it to internal memory and head out into the hall to try and make a mends for my blunder. In my haste to get to the action, I forgot how creaky those damn stairs are, and one of them made a thud sound that seemed loud enough to wake the dead to me! Even more alarmingly, as I got to Rachel's front door, the action seem to stop, and I could've sworn I heard the word "interruption" as part of what she said. Normally I'd have been out of there like a shot, but still thoroughly pissed off over the loss of the earlier recording, I decided to wait it out. Whatever that interruption was, it can't have been the sound of me approaching, because they got back down to business without hesitation.

So, other than some quick and brutal treatment to reduce traffic rumble from outside and some bloody annoying buzz from the lights inside that were masking details, this is the raw unedited 28 minutes of action that caused me to miss my train out of London. Even though the action is nowhere near as clear when you're just standing outside her door and listening at head height, I could tell just enough to know that this would be a keeper and couldn't leave this one until I was sure they were done. I've split the file into 3 parts. The first is mainly fucking, the second is mainly oral (check out the detail), and the third has a mixture with orgasms for them both close to the end. It's cut into equal length parts rather than neatly framing each section, because once again I'm back late and desperately need to sleep, but I'm sure you guys can live with that. There is a point at around 2:45 in the last part where I pick up the recorder and start to retreat, but keep listening because it turned out there was plenty more to be heard. For posterity's sake, I've even left in the exclamation of triumph that burst from me when I was safely back in my flat. Though you wont' be able to tell from the audio, you might want to know that it was accompanied by a grin worthy of the joker and what can only be described as my "happy happy dance".

Enjoy people. Here's hoping that this is the end of my longest ever dry spell. Turns out that Rachel is quite a catch, seems to know what she likes, and sounds absolutely nothing like what I would've expected. He's one lucky chap, whoever he is!

yes, I agree - with such a good story, you not only have the sound but also nearly the picture.
Well done, appreciated!

Noticed male laughter coming from upstairs as I was walking back to my flat just now. Cant' be sure it's the same chap back for another visit yet.

Recorder at the ready... just in case.

Hej Scott,
once more you´re setting new standards, I wish I could compete with your technical creativity and your humor not to speak of your ability to write.
Please let me know as soon as she seems to be underfucked for some time again! I will come and visit you as soon as possible, haven´t been to London for too long ;-)

Cheers for the props Yeppie, much appreciated!

Since he arrived today, unexpected and annoying things have meant I've needed to pop out twice. Returning just now, the public entrance for the building is open and a huge van is parked outside. No movement yet so I can't be sure what's going on, but there's a chance the couple in the other flat on Rachel's floor could be moving out. That flat being unoccupied would decrease the risk of me being spotted significantly, so keep your fingers crossed perves...

Great story and great catch. Sounds like you're in the room with them. What kind of equipment do you use?

By the way, I love the "Yeah!" bit from you at the very end. "Result!" Had a Jeffrey sound to it from Coupling.

It was recorded on an Olympus LS-11, but to be honest I think any decent field recorder could've gotten a similar result - the doors are fitted so badly here! Next time, I'll try and leave something recording in the room below her bedroom as well to give you guys an idea of what I woke up to. The difference in perception is fascinating. I've always been a fan of those distant neighbour recordings that you have to put some effort in to, but perhaps I've been missing out.

Hahaha, I'm actually saying "booyah" at the end. It's kinda a current London version of Geffrey's "result", although I'm a lot less Welsh/weird than him hopefully. Didn't know you guys got Coupling in the states though - loved that show! Was it the Brit version or a remake?
