New sounds in stereo?

I'd like to see some new sounds recorded in the spaciousness of stereo. That might give more of the feeling of being there. Is that possible for any of our contributors?

I stumbled upon this at youtube, reencoded to mp3.

No idea what is going on, or how they made it. But sure is stereo. Maybe it has too much separation.

It feels like if I was in the room. Unfortunately the only thing I would like to do if I was there would be to slap these awful fakers...

I fully agree with you.

Stereo or Mono...... I'd just like to hear more captures of everyday couples in relationships down the hall, instead of the large percentage of "ooooooh -- ahhhhhhh" hookers I seem to hear on this site. I apologize for my complaining.

I'm planning to make a dummy-head stereo microphone system and then records making with it.

Soon...

Stereo recordings are possible. The best stereo recordings are when the sex is in a place under your control like your guest room or living room etc and you have had time to set up.

Stereo through the wall or under door recordings don't really sound good to me. The through the wall recordings almost always sound better bandwidth limited and with some AGC (automatic gain control). Definitely not hi fi recordings, but when done well, very legible.

To make stereo recordings you need a device that is capable of recording in stereo. There are a bunch of little personal stereo recorders out there. Truth be told I am not sure if the mic jack in my notebook is stereo or not, my guess would be not. You typically need a jack with 4 connections for stereo, one each for the R and L audio and one for the common ground, and one for the voltage for the condenser elements.

I think the upper mid level stereo recordings would be from one of the dedicated personal recorders, and the high end would be from a notebook with an external digitizer, a pair of good quality mic preamps, and a couple good mics.

If you search the net there are a lot of schools of thought on how to record a good stereo image. From the mic sets that look like a human head to two omni directional mics, to two cardioids in an X/Y configuration with some electronics.

I have heard some very cool binaural recordings made with the fake heads. If you listen to them with headphones it is like you are standing there.
