Hi, I'm new.

Hi all. I'm new here. I've subscribed to the archives in the past and thought it was time to join the forums. I picked the name tweaktweak and I don't know why. It was just random. I hate it so don't judge me on it, ok?

Anyway. I'm from the USA. I'm an audio engineer so that might be where my love of sex sounds originated. I often run sounds I've downloaded in an audio program to try to clean them up and try to hear even more. I love trying to figure out what's happening. I'm a big fan of the more subtle sounds. I seem to enjoy the foreplay more than the main event. I even like random talk before and after. The more in a recording the better for my tastes.

As for my own recordings I do have some stashed away that I'll share. All motel and neighbor stuff. I still have to go through and see what I have and what can be cleaned up. Also, if anyone needs help cleaning up a file let me know and I'll see if I can help.

So, thanks for having me and hopefully I can be a useful member of the forums.

Cheers

Hello Tweak, welcome here

I work with audio equipment too, what tools do you use for cleaning audio files ?

Do you work with Protools and specific plug-ins ?

Hey Justinien. Normally, when I'm working at a studio I use Pro Tools. It's what I'm most comfortable with. At home I have an older version of Logic installed on my laptop. I'm not very good with it but for a single audio file it's fine.

I keep trying all kinds of plug ins. The Logic plugin is nice because it has a built in analyzer so I can see what frequency is bothering me and quickly cut it. Plus it can get very narrow wick is good for cutting hum. Everything else varies depending on the source material. I'm usually not a fan of noise reduction plug ins but Logic has a "Speech Enhancer" that does some simple reduction and it sounds pretty good. I also like to use a really fast, high ratio compressor at the last stage because sometimes I have the audio cranked to hear something and I don't want to go deaf if there's a sudden noise spike.

That's pretty much it.

Welcome to a fellow studio dweller!

A thought struck me the other day - considering how much time I spend in those environments, it seems ridiculous that I haven't yet made/been able to post a recording direct from a studio. Rehearsal space yes, but actual studio no dice. I must try harder, or failing that, throw the work/life balance out the window and make one.

Enjoy the site man, there's some great projects around if you're a fan of cleaning up.

Thanks for the welcome Scott. I have to admit I'm not working in the studio these days as much as I'd like. I do miss it.

I've been lucky to have some trysts at the studio but these happened before I was into or even aware of sex sounds. Studios do seem like the perfect environment for them. Besides all of the equipment and better than average acoustic environment studios are one of the better places to bring a lover to when you can't go home. I do remember one night going home one night from a studio leaving the intern and his girlfriend behind. I kicked myself for not setting something up. Oh well.

And I think I am a fan of cleaning up audio. I'm not sure if I'm great at it. Sometimes I over do it and don't really improve anything. I did hit upon something the other day that really cleaned up a track but I haven't figured out what I did! I need to check out the session. It has to do with putting a stereo track out of phase and summing and all that but there's something else happening. I havent touched it yet because I didn't want to mess it up.

Anyway, I'm rambling.

Cheers.
