Good Time to Catch?

Newbie here.
There are a number of big chain hotels nearby for conventions and tourists, and I was thinking to walk around to find something to record and contribute.
When do you think is a good time to make the rounds? Also, what's the best way to avoid people's suspicion?
Does someone monitor the security camera 24/7, or do they only review when something happens?
It might be weird to catch someone slowly walking around different floors.
If you get stopped, what's a good story for an excuse?
Any recommendation for some tactics?
Or maybe this is not a good idea entirely.

this question belongs to another section of the board, yeppie will shift it there. Your questions have been asked before, you will find the Information in category "Talking about Sounds".

Audio isn´t wrong as this section is mainly for uploading and discussing sounds but as your question is closely related to motel sex, I will leave it in here.
When reading your questions I remember to have seen the answers before but honestly, I didn´t find them myself during a short search/lookthrough, not in "Talking about sounds" nor in "Know-how". Audio, it would be helpful to link the thread(s) if you know them.

Hi,

A couple of comments.

1. Avoid cameras at all costs. As you enter the hotel and walk to your room, keep a look out for cameras and note their positions. You should be able to identify areas that are not covered so stick to these. And if the coverage is such that you won't be able to avoid them then c'est la vie, get a good night's sleep and try another hotel next time.

2. I find the best times are (i) 4.40 - 5.30 pm immediately after work, (ii) 8.30 - 9.00 pm after they've finished their dinner, (iii) 1.00 am, after the bar has closed. It's pretty rare for me to get catches during (iii) because I'm usually tucked up in my bed by then.

3. If I'm travelling alone I usually go down to dinner at about 6.30, which gives me an opportunity to scan for likely couples to capture.I've made several catches by listening for people's room numbers when they sign for their bills.

4. You'll have to think up your own "what if I'm caught" excuse. I've only been caught once and on that occasion I used the old "I just got a bit lost and came out on the wrong floor" excuse. Then I made a point of never returning to that hotel. I don't feel this worked all that well but on the other hand, no harm came from it. Since then I have thought up several excuses for use at different times of the evening. If caught after midnight, for instance, then acting drunk and confused is probably a good one. Plan ahead and most importantly, don't do anything illegal. That way, if you're caught you will certainly be embarrassed but no real harm will come to you.

5. Oh, and avoid the temptation to prowl. If you wander along a corridor and don't hear anything then there's probably nothing going to happen for a while, so move on and come back later.

I hope this helps to generate some discussion.

L
