Here's a decent, low-distortion recording from this past weekend of Amber.
I met Amber when I was out having a beer with friends after soccer. She and her friends were part of a bachelorette party -- a gaggle (school? pride?) of twentysomethings that was just heading out for their night on the town. They were all dressed in semi-formal evening cocktail dresses, except for the bride-to-be who was for some reason dressed up in a cat costume. (Don't ask. I have no idea.) To my teammates, it was like opening a can of Alpo in front of a dog, and within 10 minutes of their arrival pretty much everyone at our table was trying to make progress with someone at theirs. I woman I chose to chat up was Amber, a blonde in a lowcut, strapless black mini-dress who seemed to be wearing a pushup bra, and who had that one quality I find irresistible in a woman: she kept buying me shots.
When they decided to move from cocktails to dancing, they invited us to join and not one of us said no. We all danced for about an hour or so; all the while Amber kept getting us shots.
"Please, no more," I would say. "I drove, and if you want something else I really feel like I should get a round for you next time."
"Okay!" She'd reply with a big grin. And then five minutes later she'd show up with shots. "Here, drink this!"
After a while it was time for them to go see the male stripper review. They invited us to continue the journey with them, but I needed to beg off because I had had one too many shots. They all left, and I called a cab, went home and crashed, and was asleep seconds after falling into my bed.
Three hours later it was about two in the morning, and my phone rang. It was Amber, who had gotten my number from one of my teammates, all of whom except for me were still with the bachelorette party. Everyone was going out for breakfast and after-hours dancing, and I was supposed to join them. I tried to decline, explaining that while I was now (mostly) sober, I was pretty gamey from a night of dancing, drinking, and falling asleep in my clothes. Amber was undeterred.
"Just get in the shower now," she said. "Text me your address and I'll come get you." And remembering what she looked like in that dress, I said yes, texted her my address, and got in the shower. I was just finished getting dressed after the shower when she arrived, a bottle of wine in her hand. We never made it back to the party and it turned out I'd gotten dressed for what would be about 15 minutes, and that was okay by me.
