Quiet but Nice

Not much of a story to this one. I was staying in a motel with a joined room. The doors between the rooms didn't seem to be much of a sound insulator and I could hear much of the couple next door's conversation. Placing my recorder down by the gap at the bottom of the door was a no-brainer. However, once they went to bed I didn't hear a peep. Of course, my bed was on the opposite wall, but still, I expected to hear something. I'd written the whole thing off as a failure until I spot-checked the recording a few days later and realized I captured a nice session after all.
They make an effort to keep quiet, so you'll have to listen hard until they get ramped up a bit around 8:00. They never get loud, but go up and down in intensity for over thirty minutes, so the file is a little large, I'm afraid. I hope you enjoy.

Nathaniel, I love this recording!
My favourites are the ones where the players are trying to be quiet, which no doubt the connecting door led them to be.
It sounds like you cut them off in their prime, was there more action after the end of this?
Anyway, thank you soooo much.

I couldn't agree more with the above - quiet ones are the best for me!! But, as mentioned above, is there a further recording to this?
Excellent recording, hope to hear more of the same.

I second that. Doesn't seem finished and hoping for a bit of a finale..

Thank you so much for posting this. I also enjoy the quiet ones. I am really looking forward to listening to this.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad you all enjoyed it.
As for the rest of the recording, my recorder actually ran for the rest of the night. Immediately following the portion I posted, there were some sounds of sliding around in the sheets and then nothing--at least that's what I thought. After reading your comments, I went back and re-examined it and now I'm not so sure that's where it ended.
They are definitely quieter, but after turning the volume all the way up, I could possibly hear some more kissing and some slight mumbling at times. Maybe some heavy breathing, but it's hard to tell. Near the end, there is some indistinct whispering. In any case, here's the next thirty minutes for anyone who wants it. I will add the disclaimer that this part, if anything really is there, is definitely quieter than the first.

Nathaniel, just curious as to what kind of recorder you have/use?
Because I know of a motel where I stay at on a semi regular basis that has adjoining rooms, and I have sometimes heard things going on, but until just recently never had any way to record them, until I found out that my droid tablet had a record function that works very well (I posted my first recording earlier)
The problem that I have is of course that I have to be very careful sliding the damn thing under the door halfway, lest someone see it or the damn thing decide to go off for whatever reason, it doesn't go off very often but I really worry about forgetting to turn off notifications and getting busted, which would royally suck, big time.
Anyways, that was a good capture there, I have often found that couples in motel rooms either A) try to keep it quiet or leave the damn TV blaring (very frustrating) or B) just don't give a damn who hears them (nice, but screamers turn me off to be honest, it's like fake porn to me)

Totally agree. Listening to screamers is just like listening to the audio track of a porno film with the video turned off. Big yawn. What's REALLY erotic is hearing genuine lovers in a relationship laughing, squealing and chatting while they're having fun in bed. That's a hundred times more exciting than something that's obviously staged.

I use an Olympus VN-722PC. It's fairly inexpensive but I think it does a good job. Holds 67 hours in the internal memory. For this recording, I just used the built-in mic, but it has an 1/8" port for an external mic. I've done some experimentation using a contact mic, which I'll post later. Of course, I also still use my smartphone when necessity demands.

Hello thesoundguy,
I strongly recommend the small USB recorders you can buy on Amazon for less than £10. More than half my recordings are made on these.
They're high quality, unobtrusive and if you should lose one (I've lost two over the last year, presumably found outside doors by others), not expensive to replace.

Hello N,
Perhaps you need to listen more carefully (Or perhaps I'm just proving what a pervert I am?)
There are distinctly interesting gasps from about 6.40 on, including several "oh yeahs", etc. And have you listened to the period before and after 25.30, or the moans around 27.45.......? And the action continues right to the end of the post......
In fact, I am certain there is much more to come after this has ended.
Seriously man, listen to this carefully, it's GOLD DUST!! But IT ENDS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ONGOING ACTION!!!!!!!!
Please post the next hour. This is a FANTASTIC capture!!
Well done Sir!

I had the same impression. There are lots to hear with a headset there!

Lestanf, thank you for the suggestion, there is nothing more frustrating than to hear some action and not be able to record it.
Only downside is having to listen to sounds of silence, but I reckon it's worth it if you get a good capture like Damien did.
