Like some other members, I too have been unable to obtain any sound from the mp3 file, despite several download attempts.

Let me not to agree with you. I mean, of course, different people feel different, but for me personally both the idea you mention and this voyeuristic aspect of observing somebody's sexual life give pleasure, and I can not say which aspect is the main - sometimes one, sometimes another. From the second position of course video is better. Don't know how much people from our community feel in such a way.
The another important point, is that people much easily share the audiofiles because it does not violate their privacy to such extent as video (and it is much easily to make the audio recording secret), so, I suppose, people interested in video also go here because the variety of recordings here is much more comparing to the number of REAL (I mean not staged) home videos.
Please, do not think I'm trying to convince you to share the video, just some thoughts about the subject.

No, you are absolutely right in many ways! We do feel like we are accessing a more 'real' voyeuristic experience than many of the videos that are available out there. You're right in saying the visual can be better but, as in the case of erotic fiction, imagination can often be more powerfully erotic than the blanks that video or a photograph tends to fill.
