About five years ago I had a period of having to work for another company in our group of companies that was based in central London. I stayed with some relatives who owned a small hotel in Dulwich (this was actually the start of my interest in recording by the way). The hotel was run by Brian and June who were at the time in their early fifties, they had only a few years earlier returned from the USA where another hotel venture of theirs had gone belly up. I must have spent in all at least 3 or months with them over the course of a year and had various rooms depending on the availability at the time. Brian and June used to live in an annexe at the back of the house, for one of my visits the hotel was fully booked and I had to have a room in the annexe near where Brian and June lived, this is when I made the attached recording. Brian was very much involved in a darts team at the local pub and often when he was out June used to get busy on a Sybian machine Now, I never actually saw the machine but those who have seen videos on the web will know they are not exactly silent bits of kit and have a distinctive sound, a bit noisy but they certainly do the job. I made a recording one evening of what I believe was June having a ride, she sounded like she was trying to keep the noise down but the machine got the better of her and there was quite a few moans. The original recording was nearly 15 minutes long but there were lots of stop-starts and periods of inactivity when I nearly stopped the recording, so it has been dramatically edited.
