Assistance Required

I've been lucky so far to catch my neighbours three times. The first two times were by pure chance so on my phone and quite clear other than me moving phone onto fence. Unfortunately the second file was a write off due to circumstances beyond my control (and bad timing of the couple to climax as a train went past!)

The third time I need cleaning/cutting. I've tried on Audacity (after backing up my file) but so far managed to enhance the sound so I deafened myself, or tried to reduce the background sound... which appeared to mean remove the sex and leave the clock and the wind!

It's only when you have our hobby you realise how noisy your neighbourhood actually is! I live next to a train line (stop running at 11pm so not too bad) and apparently boy racers galore that and if it's not raining it's breezy is enough to turn your hair grey(er). Plus my recorder I caught the third file on has an annoying habit of clicking constantly. Could anyone recommend a decent (cheapish) recorder also?

Just realised the file in question isn't on my phone it's on pc so will attach it when I get home tonight in the neighboursex board. Original file is near 2 hrs long but bit we're interested in is only about 6 mins unless you like trains, cars, dogs barking and the odd person walking down the road hence the cutting request!

A lot to ask I know. Any assistance is greatly appreciated

I have a few of these. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006R3 ... ge_o00_s00

If you are handy with electronics and don't mind having a real ugly device on your hands I can suggest replacing the mic with a much quieter and more sensitive one, and perhaps replacing the battery with something that will allow it to record the full 8gb in one swoop so you can leave it for a while.

Feel free to ping me if you have any Q's. I can point you at the $10 mic I would replace the built in one with.

concerning your two-hours file: did you already manage to cut the relevant part out, or do you need help with this?

Hi Thomas, have managed to cut it myself but it sounds appalling. If you or anyone can clean it up feel free. I shall post it sometime today in neighbours section (meant to do it before now but RL occurred!)

Yes it would be great if you might post it, and the community can have a look at it...
