audio file naming

Many members title their audio files something like "REC 001", "Rec002", etc. This often causes conflicts on the computer when another file with the same name is found already in the memory. Besides that, when I am looking through my archives coming across titles like Rec001 doesn't give me a clue as to what is on the file. It would be helpful if members would give more descriptive names. I sometimes rename the files if I remember any details, but it would be easier if members named their own files in a more descriptive way.

You can edit it to the name that suits you tbh.
Not much effort to it

Jeezuz mate! You should be pleased that members post on here at all, not moaning at them about file titles. How hard is it for you to rename a file when you save it?

Just an advice - add the user name before the file name while saving it, the simplest way to distinguish files posted by different users.

I support fynens polite request. Sometimes I add the date and/or topic title to the name before uploading to the archive, especially when I know there are new recordings with the same name to come like in JulietH´s series for example.

Filenames doesn't matter to me, I always add members name, a suitable title and date anyway
