London hotel, many cameras.

Hi,

This is a capture I made a few weeks ago while staying in London. I've only just found the time to review this and post it.

I was in an open-plan hotel in which all the rooms opened into balconies around a common atrium so the walkways were very public. Add to this that there were dome encased cameras dotted around the ceiling of the atrium, making it impossible to place mic's securely. So I dropped a USB mic into a large pot of artificial plants and hoped for the best.

I captured a few potential sounds over the three nights I was there but this is the only one I feel is of of post'able quality. There was a couple in their early thirties staying in a room close to the pot and I think this is them. If I'm right, she was of average height and build, dark shoulder length hair, wearing a short summer dress and low-healed sandals. He was similar age and build with short curly hair and a fashionable amount of dark stubble. They looked to be touristy sort of people.

Sorry about the background noise, not much I could do about it.

....imaginative to drop the recorder in a plant. she's a moaner and a talker (oooh right there) this one, just imagine living next door to her! funny that (presumably) the people next door turned up their TV halfway though. good recording LeStanf!

She sounds very cute! Nice one. Shame about the annoying TV.

Great recording LeStanf. I like this idea of dropping a recorder in the plants!

God forbid they just sit back and enjoy listening!

Indeed, maybe they were listening the activities in the next room, too, and that`s why they switched on the TV...

but anyway, she sounds to have a lot of pleasure :-) Thank you very much for the recording!

We all need to invest in a hotel maximised for captures :(
