Post New Years Blues..

So this weekend, I booked at my usual place and a new one - also with 2 max/room rule.

No descriptions - first is my neighbors who checked in and shortly after made love in the shower. She has such a sweet voice.

The other was a target couple - but not them - rather another couple from the same floor:

17JAN07-9thCorridor-1.mp3

That said, the weekend was pretty disappointing. The new place was all but abandoned. Did some walk throughs and I liked the dark corridors and THICK doorframes allowing mic hiding above line of sight. But no takers!

My usual place seemed very promising. Lots of people; lots of couples - I even followed two to their rooms.. and ... NOTHING

Six mic placements throughout hotel with changeover at 4AM - .. NOTHING

And my walkarounds with my new fancy 4-track recorder (Olympus LS-P2)... NOTHING

Thank God the one neighbor went for it even if it was just once and for the orgasmic corridor couple or I'd have nothing to show. Think I'll hiatus until Valentines. I do have a business trip to Portland and Seattle a week from now and chose interesting boutiques in both areas. Also on Valentines night I have a place booked in Dallas - boutique - which generates sex noise complaints on TripAdvisor - so some good hopes there. I am booked at my usual place and also the Beverly Hills hotel for the weekend before Valentines. Haven't made up my mind regarding the week after.

Anyway, please enjoy these two for what they are :)

After detailing your itenary, I'm surprised you have a hiatus. :p

After those trips its like no hiatus at all.

Also, sometimes you cant catch em all. Hotels have peak or off peak seasons. The only way to guarantee a capture i believe is to go a hotel that exists for love making and epeople pay by the hour.

Hey Physicist -

Believe it or not there are two here in Los Angeles like that. Spooky as hell and in a bad neighborhood. Old places, thick walls - I think people are too intimidated by the atmosphere to really let loose. Plus, the corridors are outside with ac units - and 24 hours security staff in parking lot constantly watching corridors (LA is very paranoid re prostitution) - so forget door gap or USB plants. So best bet has been either doing regular hotels on Sat night - or boutiques which are more expensive, but fewer families, business types and more couples. Guess this Saturday wasn't the time. I have been there before two nights in a row where Friday night I spent backbreaking hours turning up nothing, then the second night everyone in the hotel seems to be on a sex marathon! Hoping Seattle and Portland turn up something but mid week I am not holding my breath. Real hope is for Valentines. Then I will save my $$$ for St Pat's Day, July 4th, and then maybe a couple of weekends over the summer. That is when hotels with rooftop nightclubs (a fast growing trend here in Los Angeles) thrive.

I understand, I didn't know about THAT.

However, it just came as an idea after I myself read an article about "lovers hotels" which had a listing of hotels in New York in case you were in the mood so I thought maybe there are a few places.

I can see according to futtock there are places like that in france but french couples don't care so there is that :P

Yeah, Californians and I think Americans in general are snooty about this stuff. So instead of being honest and making dedicated high quality lovers' hotels, we throw those underground into really disgusting XXX motels - and then you have higher scale hotels that try to market to couples but then still issue 'noise' warnings. The places I am going to are mid-high end and not only advertise to couples but make the furniture and everything else conducive only to sex and crashing out after a drunk. So they aren't shoved into the low class category but are passively trying to discourage families and business travelers - by having sex kits mixed in with the snack bar and futons on raised platforms - not a good place to spend a week if you are trying to get a comfortable, quiet room while working all day on your feet at a product/trade show..

Believe me, if we had Tokyo/NYC quality Love Hotels here, I'd be haunting them!

I think VHS was the final spike in the old fuck hotels. I recall a lot o cities had sleezy hotels with waterbeds and in room adult movies. They must have been a gas in their day, but VHS pretty much did the adult theaters in and now I can not see porn as a draw anymore. How times change.

Tokyo love hotels would be impossible to get a capture. Apparently they are heavily sound proofed and double doored to block out noise.

These are the japanese don't forget.
