Wedding night Stratford on Avon

Wedding in Stratford (birthplace of Shakespeare) with party in the old MacDonald Hotel. A lot of us were staying the night. Some nice couples but what happens?? They all stay in the cheaper Travelodge up the road. So I did not even get the chance to capture any of the couples there!

When I did make my 1st round at last around 23:30 I had also missed some normal hotel guests that I had my eye on in the bar area, however I could hear a young couple walk to their room and found where they were staying. Dropped a recorder, they chatted for absolute ages!

Done more rounds and kept coming back but they were still chatting. At 01:45 I was about ready to pack up and retreat to my bed when a really young couple (girl must've been like 19 but extremely pretty) came to their room, which was opposite to that of the couple I had been recording for all those hours. They had finally stopped talking and had gone to sleep. So I grabbed the recorder and moved it to the youngsters' room but about 5 mins in I can hear some faint moaning from the room I had been recording at for all this time! Quickly moved the recorder over again and man, the next 10 minutes the girl sounded uber cute & sexy. A minute or so in I also decided to record with my phone, using the recorder app 'SnipBack'. I have a 9 mins recording on my phone in this app.

When they finally finish I give the young couple opposite another 15 mins the time to follow suit, but as they just went to sleep I legged it to my room to listen to the fruits just caught.

You guessed it? The battery of the usb recorder must've died out as none of the 3 files on there are actually of the action, it just isn't there! Well, at least I have the 9 mins on my phone right? Wrong, the fucking app has created a damaged file. The file is there, but it is empty. When I export the 9 mins, 6.4 mb file (share by gmail or onedrive), it is now only a 01:15 mins file and when playing it, you can't hear a thing. :!:

I am sharing that file here, if there is anyone, ANYONE there who can recover the sound, I'd be incredibly grateful. Even only 01:15 would be a lot better than nothing, but that is only because when I heard them live I felt this must be one of the best recordings ever heard..

I have been gutted for the past 48 hrs

Ok, the only good thing I found out straight after is that with my other 2 usb-recorders I did hit the jackpot that evening, so I did come away with 2 very interesting recordings of young, loving couples. I will share these tomorrow.

But still, I need to recover this file I have on my phone.. Any advise/help from techies? Any long time lurkers who only download and never even comment but are phone file savvy? This is your fucking moment to do something great! I will be here, waiting

You might want to buy new USB recorders, findu, it might be worth the investment given the pain its causing you.

I also have no idea how to save audio. Was your app in the wrong settings?

Can you hear it on your phone?

Yeah...I feel your pain on this one. Most failure events are not caused by getting caught or busted.. but by simple hardware failures. A routine really goes a long way to avoid these. Here's mine if it helps..

1. Know your equipment. Most of my USBs last 16 hrs (I derate to 15 for safety) but one type lasts 11 hrs. Missed a beautiful session due to battery depletion.

2. Assume ALL mics are dead. First thing I do on check-in is charge every single one using high amp multi USB charger..I have two so charge 6 at a time ..

3. On your iPhone, use Word or Notes to write room location and make a mental note to yourself the planting time. Imperative if you plant several.. VERY easy to forget. Plus you can then replace a shorter battery mic with something else while you take that one back to your room to download and recharge when the time of depletion nears.

Good luck!!

PS.. On my list above, B, S & W are for Black, Silver and White color mics. So for W4 (a white mic) you can see I first planted at Room 1105 then later moved to Room 1209.

And.. You can see B2 I had good luck there (love couple emoticon)

Wise words from Gekko there. I also lose recordings sometimes due to equipment failure. Those little USB recorders can be fiddly to use, occasionally I neglect to fully move the record switch to the on position, and as Gekko says the battery life of each one is different, so it pays to get to know your equipment well.

I think ultimately it's best to not worry about the recordings you have missed, just be happy with the successful ones you've made. You've made some really excellent contributions to this site findu, we really appreciate your work.

Thanks guys, appreciate the response of 3 maestro's.
The frustration will wear off, it is now the 3rd time this season I listened to something live thinking I was recording it and finding out I had not got anything.

Regarding the hardware: the usb recorders I have been using have been fairly shit over the past year or so. Ebay used to be full with Chinese sellers offering them for under £ 10 but the quality has been going downhill and now they have become hard to find! Lestanf, where do you buy yours?

I must've lost about 15 over the years where when I would plug them in my laptop they just wouldn't get recognized. Or they just completely lost their recording function. And another 25 or so lost in action (which is less frustrating I think).

My recorders should record 10 hrs + but the one must've slowly lost battery life in the week leading up to Saturday.

Cheers

Anyway, as mentioned I was successful somewhere else. I must've decided that this room had some kind of potential and I was not wrong as withing 5 mins after planting a recorder they were banging. I start the recording about 2.5 mins in when you can still hear her brushing her teeth in the bathroom before she joins her fella in bed. Some nice action follows. Listen to the instruction she gives him a fair bit in, explaining him that he can be rough and she can take the pain.
After they finish I think she asks him to watch her play with herself when the couple in the opposite room come home.

Enjoy!

I think 5 or 10 mins after couple in room 206 finish I return and hear young people in room 207 opposite so I plant a recorder there too. I leave them to it and about 12 mins in they start having some fun too! She has been drinking we find out later as she is very open talking about her physique and the effect alcohol has on..

As in the previous recording I leave quite a bit of the build up in it as I personally rate that. The (sounds of) a build up to that first audible moan are a substantial part of the whole experience.

Listen for yourself and enjoy!

Omg!!! What a brilliant capture 206 is, I'll have to listen to 207 tomorrow, not a bad lot given you thought you'd missed everything else. As the other guys said, don't worry about missed opportunities be glad if the ones you got. You have a lot more luck than ihave. Many many thanks 😎 R

That is one of the things that I really love about your recordings. Not just that the sex sounds are wicked hot, but the included build up, being able to listen to the whole experience.
