sound activated recorder app for android

Does anyone know of a good app that records sound if it is louder than a certain threshold? I figure it could be used on an old phone that you plug in somewhere secretly and come back much later, or plug into a battery pack and somewhere for later retrieval.

The only one I have seen so far is
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... rder&hl=en

but I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this.

Hi,

I recently used the same app for some recordings and I think it's a bit sub par. The threshhold setting for the sounds we all love to hear is relative low and it stops directly after the level drops.
Otherwise the interface and the audio quality is quite good.

Orherwise I would like to hear other recommendations.

I would not bother with these apps. The thing is they are made for loud and continuous sounds, neither one of which is what we are dealing with. For this type of app to work for us, the threshold would have to be set so low the fridge kicking on would set it off. And once it is started it would need to stay going for a long time. IMHO you are far better off with a USB stick and a good charge, or if you are electromechanically talented, put a much larger battery in a USB stick even if it means the battery will not fit in the stick. I suspect a couple 18650 cells would power a 8gb stick for the full 8gb, assuming they can write one file that large. This may never have been tried as the on board battery would be the limiting factor.
