I used to have to travel over to Dublin, Ireland on a regular basis. On my final visit over there I was just heading back to my room in the Premier Inn Dublin Airport (which isn't actually at the airport....) after dinner when I heard this couple.....

I only had my iPod with me which I put on the floor (there were decent sized gaps under the doors) but I didn't want to leave it lying around so had to hang around in the corridor. Hence there are two breaks in the recordings, the first when a hotel guest appeared but headed to his room so there's not much of a break. The somewhat larger second gap is because a member of hotel staff was wandering around....

This made me smile, I have soooo experienced this problem at soooo many airports .

Great recordings. Well done on going back for more after the hotel staff had prowled the corridors. I'm not so sure I'd have done that, you're much braver than me.

I had the room right at the end of the corridor about 4 or 5 down from them, so when anyone appeared out of the lifts it was reasonable for me to just be walking towards my room.

I would like to know this too. I don't sense anal going on.

Beautifully clear recordings. She definitely says something about the fact that they're trying something different, so maybe anal. Careful study (!) of the dialogue might reveal more.
