YouTube Live?

I'm not sure if this is the best spot for this but I suppose it can be moved.

I had a thought earlier today about setting up and using YouTube Live as a remote listening option. Say, you know something is going to happen at your place and in addition to any recording devices you may have going you want to listen in remotely. Would one option be setting up a spare computer or maybe old phone or whatever to start a YouTube Live session? Kill the screen so there's no visual to give away what's going on. And while you're out go to the url of the livestream and hear the audio.

I've never used YouTube Live (or anything similar that may be on Facebook or Instagram). There maybe reasons it can't work. Or reasons that make it unfeasible. But it was just a thought that came to me. Maybe it'd be worth trying for someone out there.

Live streams on Youtube are regularly monitored and checked for community policy violations, which are more stringent than their normal uploaded videos, and that's a digital footprint you do not want out there. There are other DIY solutions you could do for streaming audio elsewhere but it would take some command-line know-how. Linux devices with SoX and ffmpeg come to mind, along with a VPS somewhere else to do the receiving.

Youtube is not a bright idea as someone could get offended by it and then they could possibly report it to the authorities so that's something you don't want to do and plus it will definitely leave a digital Footprint that police could easily track your whereabouts..
