Hey folks!

First off: So nice I found this place!

I did only really start waking up to this "kink" of mine a couple of months ago, and it actually was quite a thrill to discover it, by coincidence. I've been living in a ground level flat of my apartment complex since 2012 now, but I actually never paid any heed to the "sounds of the night" around here... until that summer, that is, when I happened to sit outside on my terrace one very hot Wednesday midnight, and a - as of yet (sadly) still - unknown couple down two houses from mine (I think) decided to literally bring the walls down behind their fully opened bedroom window... needless to say, I was immediately transfixed (and hooked)... heart pounding, throat dry, the whole shabang. I mean, wow, she really was not giving a single damn! I was so surprised, amused - and aroused - I couldn't even muster the presence of mind to record it... boooh, I know. Ah well, she "came" and it went, and a few days later, I chalked it up to being a one time thing...

Then the weekend came, and we had a terrace party with a couple of friends on Saturday, and when things wound down around 1 am - I was sitting outside with one of my friends, listening to music, finishing off beers and discussing if we still should go out that night, the next show started... and lasted for quite some time. My friend was clearly not as impressed/excited as I was, but hey, different strokes, I guess... and, of course, because of the situation, I again couldn't really record anything... double boooh!

Long story short, come the following Wednesday - starting to figure out a pattern there - I finally did record them... on a crappy HTC mobile, because it still had a better mic then my S7 edge, for some reason, from roughly 15 meters away... and what can I say, it's not bad, but not really great either (heavy, metallic side noises), but it was a start... I even tried to get out and find the actual source by the end, but was too late.

Here is a cut down, cleared up version (removed crickets and stuff), in three parts... if somebody can get it even clearer, be my guest (I also still have RAW files, of course).
It - of course - wasn't the last time I got them - or the others(!) in our neighborhood, but I think it's a good start... enjoy!

I know... I did upload, but it apparently didn't go through, and I don't actually know how to edit a post here... first time poster and all that.

EDIT: Snap, I can't edit the opening post, it seams... trying to upload again.

Your first trial sent the files to the orphaned attachments ... which usually means that you did not wait for the green tick to appear, showing the end of the upload process. I know it can be misleading that the green bar seems to indicate that the file has already been completely uploaded.

Great that you tried again successfully.

Your first trial sent the files to the orphaned attachments ... which usually means that you did not wait for the green tick to appear, showing the end of the upload process. I know it can be misleading that the green bar seems to indicate that the file has already been completely uploaded.

Yea, sorry 'bout that... it's of another couple a block away or so. I think she's eastern European or Asian, hence the sudden English. It was really low, though, so I wasn't sure if I should upload it. It was done with an EDUTIGE EIM-001 external mic for my S7.

I guess that's done now...

If you enjoy austrian recordings, audio´s files in the archive are an absolute must

Hehe, tja... obwohl ma's nicht merkt, das Mädel is glaub ich Deutsche.
(Hehe, well... not that you can tell, since the girl appears to be German.)

Anywho, here is another recording of them from late last summer, before it got too cold for open windows, I guess... I actually almost missed that one, only noticed it near the end and scrambled to start the recording.

The last sounds very good.. Is it unedited?

More or less, I cut out a line of crickets around 1,5k hz and shortened it for convenience, but the rest is as recorded... including the annoying rain pipe dripping.

Denada... well, I did meet a tall, late 20ies blonde with a German accent that lives in that appartment block at one of our neighborhood meetups a couple of months ago, but I still can't say for sure. I intend to investgate further though.

Right now, the biggest issue is the cold weather and strong winds, that make recording anything diffcult, but I did buy a couple of USB recorders I intend to drop in sheltered spots... we'll see.
