Moving. How to scope new targets.

So ive recently moved into a new house. This weekend is the first weekend.

Just wondering if anyone has tips on how to test and see if any direct neighbours will be active?

I currently have 2 neighbours, one over a back fence and one next door with a connecting wall.

For the one over the back. Looking at floorplan main bedroom is on the front side of house away from me so no access, second bedroom is over fence, no idea if used.
For the one next too me. Main bed is at entrance and not easily accessible. There is a fence in the way out the front with a gap at the bottom. Prob 4-5 metres from the window.

The rest of the street is too risky as they are all unit blocks with common areas.

Is it worth just leaving some recorders out to see if anything comes up? Or any other good ideas on how to test the waters

I saw the spare bedroom with a light on tonight. Decided to place a recorder in my backyard to see what happens. Unfortunately door to the backyard makes a super loud creak so need to workout how to do more easily and a mic that blocks static.

Recording was really static and made it harder but you can hear what i believe is kissing, slapping, moaning and a few words.

Gonna try to clean up a bit of the static, split to the main part then post to get some others opinions.

If this is true and i can get a better capture setup could be a goldmine.
