Joined today and have been looking at the posts and they are awesome, so I have been posting my thanks for the posts. I got a message quote from a member telling me to stop bumping old posts and I quote is words "get the fuck out of here nigger" now I don't want to leave a comment.

To be honest, I also don't enjoy it when people bump old posts all the time. But such language is uncalled for.

Sorry to hear that your comments were met with such rudeness. It was made by a single user and does not represent the opinion of this community as I know it. Most people here are friendly and use a respectful tone. Comments are welcome and I don't think you did anything wrong. Excessive bumping of very old threads may be questionable, but in this case the posts you replied to hadn't been moved to the archive so they were still relatively new.

Bumping old posts is commenting on a sound file that is either in the archive and no longer available on the message board, or replying to a sound file that is still on the message board, but is old. In general new content stays on the top of the lists and when you bump an old post, that gets moved to the top of the list. If it happens enough, new content can be hard to find.

I don't think there is an explicit rule against bumping old posts, and in the pure message boards, threads get bumped and restarted all the time. On the sound boards on the other hand, what can you say about a sound file that has been moved to the archive short of, gee I wish I was around when that was posted. Or you could spring for an archive subscription and have free rein over all of the sounds that have ever been posted.

Whoever left you a profane reply like that was not at all cool. I have known Yeppie for quite a while now, as well as a lot of the other regulars here and that kind of behavior, as you can see, is not tolerated. If someone does something annoying they should either address is politely or turf it off to Yeppie. We try and keep it a fun and friendly place.

I like that the last post goes to the top, but sometimes I want to sort differently. I've noticed that there are some sorting options right next to the "New Topic" button at the bottom of each page.

So here's an idea for the forum administrators: Would it be possible to add a new option that sorts by topic creation date?

That would be a quick solution for anyone who thinks it's annoying that posts are being bumped.

I wouldn´t want to change the script myself as that could mean problems with each update ... and I think there is no add-on for this sorting option but that is something I can check. Thanks for the idea, Million1.
