Hello all, I'm new to the community and i love it here.

I moved into an apartment for the first time ever last year and this was quickly something I learned to enjoy. The file I'm attaching isn't the best, but what I'm going to do is attach two: one of my attempt at cleanup, and the raw if someone else wants to take a crack. The A/C units are running currently and really interfere with my phone's mic. I'm looking into upgrading that as well so if anyone has a recommendation please let me know. Getting recordings has been hard, but I am a newb. I have been using an amp app for my phone, but I'm starting to think that increases the humming. Editing wise I use Audacity, but recently got Audition so any tricks would be awesome as I have a lot of recordings I could edit to be better.

Backstory: so around January I believe these girls moved in above me and it started pretty quickly. The apartment I live in has wooden floors, so the sound carries, but it also is thin, so those hums can be overbearing. It seems that they are roommates and have sex with men together. I've seen them out before and the first girl is around 5'4, blonde hair and a little thick. Not too big and pretty cute with a nice butt. The second girl is also around 5'4 and has brown hair and is slim with a nice set. They are both mid-upper 20s. I think what fantasizes me most about them is they also have sex together and I can hear them talking in my bathroom most. They have sex with men and take turns. I believe they have had multiple men over at once many times before too. Its very hot being able to hear the thumps and faint screams. I believe tonight around 55-1min in the clip you can hear one of the girls scream in the bedroom while the other girl is in the living room and around 1:20 the other girl asks to "let her take him." Anyway, This is a short clip I got tonight as I heard thumping and decided to give it a go with lowered amp on my phone. Let me know what you think and hope to get improved recordings soon!

ALSO realized I caught a little better moan so adding that too. I love hearing them moaning at the same time. I cleaned it a little

I actually tried a new recording techniaue last night and got a little more I will edit and upload tonight. I have a lot of them over the previous few months I'll post soon. If someone could edit the raw some we would be in busniess!

Here's a version with my standard cleaning applied to it. Still absolutely far from perfect, but I think you can hear the moans a little bit better.
What I did:
- Amplify
- Set the high pass to 250 hz
- Set the low pass to 14,000 hz
- A very small noise reduction of 8 %
- Amplify again

Thank you for telling me what you did. I will give this other file a shot with those in mind and thanks for this edit. I'll give a listen later.

How much do you amplify, percentage-wise?

so on the phone app I usually do +30db and try to do wall contact with a firm phone case. I actually just picked up an Olympus so if any advice on that would be awesome.

I think I'm just gonna drop the raw for the other sound from the other night and now I'm gonna give my Olympus a go. Little noise at the beginning of this one as a warning.

Do your neighbors have a window you can get near? Leaving a small recording device near the window might give you better sounds. It's hard to hear through thick walls.

Good luck using the Olympus tonight and let us know how it goes with capturing the action with using the olympus instead of the Iphone

Yeah this one took quite a bit of editing to get to. I'm starting to think my apartment is just too thick of floors and walls. I live in hot climate so A/C's are prob adding noise. Last night I recorded in one spot and tonight will try another
