Interesting. My USB audio recorder doesn't record as clean as yours. I'm thinking to acquire another device in the near future.
I've been having difficulty getting decent quality USB recorders since the scamdemic. A lot of suppliers
on Amazon are selling inferior, low bit rate devices advertised as 'high quality' ones - and it doesn't matter
if the suppliers are based in China or in Western Europe. (I suspect that some same suppliers are using different
brand usernames on Amazon.) That's why I now only buy one device from a supplier at a time to try out; if
the quality is crap, I try a new supplier.

I agree, is hard to find a reliable USB recorder. Comments are out of context, as probably none buys them to record in quiet places as we do, so a USB can have 5000 positive comments but they are used only in conversations where people are close to the device.
Did you find good USB devices in the pre-scamdemic? I would like to know which brands were good and now they aren't anymore.
Besides that, I have another experience with handheld recorders. I made a comparison in this forum between an Olympus I've got for a few months and a brand new "ali" handheld. I invite you to take a look and see the incredible difference, feel free to comment. Handheld recorders
Would be great to have a post where we compare all our devices with data. I will update that post with any future device I get, I think is worthy to take the time and share with the forum our personal experiences.

Prior to the scamdemic, I used to buy cheap, high quality USBs from Shenzhen, China, via Amazon.
They were really good. But the Chinese suppliers are now unreliable - low quality mics on the devices.
I even once tried buying from a supplier in Holland - not one of the devices worked!

So we are in trouble to get quality USB recorders nowadays.
It will be great if other users share what they have and we could make a list in the forum with the reliable brands and models.
"Scamdemic"? Obviously, none of you worked in hospitals. Our local hospitals here had to rent temporary morgue space at off-site locations, because the bodies of victims were completely overfilling their own hospital morgues. It was real here.

I agree yeppie. Great idea to separate. Was not my intention at all to divert the focus from the original topic on Ashenelm capture. My apologies if it did look like that.
For the other stuff, we were just talking about hardware till someone got ofended for just one word, I don't think we were discussing any of that, just hardware.
