One of the comments on this video pretty much sums it up for me:

I grew up on a ranch in Kansas. Neighbors were a mile or more away.
Wives met their future husbands at barn dances and other "social events" hosted by the community. Men who were bad news were screened out at these events; the guys women met were the type of guys their parents approved of (because their parents and grandparents were present).
No, I'm not 150 years old. This was as recently as the late 1980s.
What changed?
Internet and social media convinced women that they could get the playboy Chad with the yacht and the private jet, and also glorified the "bad boy", that's what.
Let's not forget feminism, which gave women a sense of superiority and entitlement, and which also caused them to discount the guidance and influence of their fathers, even when the mothers still allowed the father to be in the home.
