Neighbour couple. *Sound help required*
First post here after being a listener for a long while.
This is a recording of my neighbours, unfortunately my recorder is one of those that clicks throughout recording add to that the wind and other noises made it hard to hear. I have had a play with Audacity but am the first to admit I have no idea what I'm doing with it. Managed to cut these files from the original 2hr recording (wind and rain noise only for rest of it). Please can somebody clean it up it's driving me mad

Wow, you can just barely hear her in the distance..... and I mean barely. Thanks for this distant capture, because these can be among the most rewarding captures on site.

Re: Sound help required
You're more than welcome. However the recorder was less than 5' away, hence a bit of fiddling with the file might help! In the edit file it's better to hear.Quadrophenia1 wrote:Wow, you can just barely hear her in the distance..... and I mean barely. There'll be more to follow I'm sure

Re: Neighbour couple.
This was the first time I caught my neighbours. All I can say is I promise my sound captures will improve!
This was when they were sleeping in the back bedroom of their house (normally in front bedroom but redecorating - we do talk, I've not been peeking through windows!) with an open window. A perfect opportunity you'd think. However...
I'd just got home from work, so was dressed in full hi viz gear (kind of hard to be discreet!) and had no recorder on me other than my phone, which was not in the most accessible pocket. Then I had to try and balance it on the fence which isn't easy at 11pm in the pitch dark whilst avoiding being seen through window of the neighbours behind. So in my defence I did think there would be more movement noise on this recording, but that said I'm still ashamed at the quality of this capture. At least you can hear the final few moments
I've edited the original file and cut it to where you can hear the important sounds. However there is at least one scrape noise that's loud right at the start, beware if you're wearing headphones!

Good effort though mate. I have a similar issue - I have some new recordings of my neighbour - late 20s ish - who lives below me and recently got a new bf, but I need to go through the recordings first a note the best ones to submit. If you find someone to let I might have to ask a cheeky favour soon too!

Nice effort but you should really cut out the first minute of so because it hurt my ear
There are free programs like mp3 trimmer to do so easily plus you can enhance the sound volume wise as well in just one step

Yeah sorry I maybe should've put a warning on it that the phone scratching/movement is bad on headphones. Apologies to the newly hearing impaired

Good effort, unfortunately conditions cannot always be suitable for captures.

I can imagine you are ashamed as you are moving about as though you are on a dance event. I don't know what you was doing but this confirms that the golden rule is to try and keep the recorder as still as possible as soon as possible. Other than that thanks for trying, hope you can catch more.

I wasn't moving much but was wearing hi viz clothing as just got back in from work and my phone was in an inside pocket. By the time I'd got it out and clear they'd virtually finishedfindu wrote:I can imagine you are ashamed as you are moving about as though you are on a dance event. And if you'd seen me dance you'd know it'd be a lot noisier
