Halloween Weekend - So CAL
Party Atmosphere - so lots of corridor noises - groups walking around in costume .
Everyone here with few exceptions is very young - college to young adult - early to mid 20s
This couple chatted noisily, and sure enough - was able to pick up two sessions. Have the recorder back at their part of the corridor and trying to hunt up others couples' sounds as well!
And here is Couple 2. No description - result from well calculated mic placement!

And...one last one. From Couple #1 (or I should name them "Number 1 Couple!")

Re: Halloween Weekend - So CAL
I lucked out this trip - hotel was good - security not overyl ambitious - motion and noise sensors in hallways - but no cameras. Adequate (but not excellent gap under doors. Only problem was hallways were well lit; corridor carpet dark maroon and door frames light gray. Lost one of 4 USB recorders (thank God it was cheapest one). So I didn't get any true under door - except on A3 - where 2 minutes from the end it gets clearer and louder - that was because I was fortunate enough to hear this one in person (always makes a difference) and when I came up, placed the one recorder under their door and babysat it - and spliced that short recording to the end of the longer recording of that session. That recorder was white colored - but their room was behind a corridor fire door/bulkhead. So there is a miniature 1ft wide door set open - and the gap from door to wall makes an excellent place to hide a recorder - but it doesn't feel like you're in the same room.. Funny I bought a white recorder because more hotels are making bright, white color corridors. Black and gray stand out.
Got busted at one point - was in a mini corridor with only one room and a staircase fire door at the end trying to plant a mic, when the door opened. The couple just stared at me - so in keeping with the atmosphere - I tottered, asked a nonsensical question pretending to be drunk off my ass - and opened the firedoor (not alarm version) - read the sign saying saying no - reentry - exits at street level. So I just exclaimed a profanity and stared back at the couple again, and walked away staggering a bit. Guy was laughing, girl was a bit nervous - but nothing came of it - I did avoid that floor the rest of the evening though.
I did finally see the boyfriend of Number One Couple - Dressed as a transformer - costume lit up - serious stuff. So I think he was competing in a costume event and was going back and forth to the room while his lady stayed behind. He was early-mid 20's, white, dark brunette hair and very trim athletic shape. I wish I had seen the girlfriend - but for some reason I picture her shorter, caucasian - sweet face with light freckles (I think her high pitched 'husky' voice is what gives me that - and a blond - pixie cut hairstyle. Getting ready now to shower and check out. Will update this if I run into them at valet or checkout.
Cheers all!

Were you dressed as a Decepticon, Gekko?! Sounds like a fruitful night! Have you been to this place before? Is it always this good?

No, this place was completely new to me. Trip Advisor had 'bad' things to say about the party crowd and noise. And in fact one reviewer even wrote that they complained about sex noises in the next room.. And the manager just shrugged and have the complainer a set of ear plugs. That clinched my decision to give it a try.
