Noise reduction artifacts. I suppose you can hear more of the recording after noise reduction but I find it distracting. Plus I worry that that it was overdone and I'm missing something subtle.

Lots of stuff I hate. Radio, TV< cars going past, HVAC kicking on, fridge kicking on... Than recording mistakes. And than clean up mistakes. Oh, nasty rooms too, with too much echo.

Some of my favs are done with a decent recorder in the woods. I really like the outdoor files that are recorded in secluded spots. Low noise floor, little or no man made noise, no hard surfaces no no nasty echos..

I echo your distaste of echoes... Seems like a lot of German recordings here have that effect. Must be the failure of modern architecture.

Strangely the only thing i maybe hate or more dislike is noisereduction that makes the recordings to ring.. Othervise it's kind of natural with tv sounds, musical, cars, streetsounds that are in the recordings.. I dont think many have time to turn off the tv, music so all lovesound will be Clearwater to hear for all us listeners either outside the door or in the adjecent appartment! ;-)

So i have to say dont do to much soundreducing! Othervise i am a all eater :)

Don't particularly care for any capture where the woman just keeps repeating: ""ooooh....ahhhh....ohhhh"" over and over endlessly for a half hour straight without saying a single word. Sounds just like you're listening to the boring audio track from a porno film.

This is kind of like critiquing art to me. One person may love classical, another may like hard core heavy metal, another maybe R and B or rap. Everybody is different really. Just because a certain sound isn't my taste does not mean I necessarily hate it.

Hell, I am adamantly straight and was at a hotel once where 2 dudes were going at it hardcore for like an hour and while I was not in the least bit interested in hearing them.. they probably would have made a great post for anyone that likes guy on guy stuff. Unfortunately I had to work early the next day and was not at all in a recording mood so put pillows around my head and eventually drifted back to sleep.

You're correct, MJ. I believe the two major camps you'll find here are: 1) The "artistry" of creating your own love songs and capturing them, or..... 2) The technical "artistry" of capturing lovemaking happening two or three doors down the hallway from you.

I hate too much microphone touching sounds.
I understand you want shows us this is a real recordings not some pornfilm track,
but hearing a touch sound until 20-30 seconds (especially on headphones) is getting me very angry and sad.
I switch off these sounds without hearing.
Why did not cut off these moments?

Me too.
Especially the "bubble sounded" ones.

Wind. I know it adds to the authenticity of a recording and as an outdoor recordist I don't mind a faint breeze but it's a pain in the arse if it's gusty or blowing into the mic (and wind covers are crap!) I've "lost" several Lucy recordings through that. The wind wasn't strong in reality but on playback it drowned out too much sound.

As far as the wind goes I dont know if you find a way to shield the wind from the device with something. That would be an additional thing to have on you when recording something from being outside.
