Well, I certainly don't recall recording a couple sharing quality time together in the bath before. Come to think of it, I don’t remember ever hearing a bath time recording on the site - the occasional Jacuzzi yes, but not a bath tub!
But first, the story:
I arrived at a UK Holiday Inn in at about 6.15. I don't often use this chain in the UK because the quality can be a bit iffy, but this trip was on short notice and this was all I could find. A few minutes after arriving in my room though I heard the next door room opening, followed by the dim sound of a man and a woman's voices in the corridor. So the Holiday Inn was suddenly looking like a more attractive option
.Now, even though I spend over 100 nights in hotels each year, it's actually very rare for me to be given a room next door to a couple. I carry a through-the-wall microphone on most trips but as I recall, it's more than two years since I was last able to make good use of this. I am sooo glad I had it with me this time though.
The thing about this couple is that they were extremely quiet in their room, I couldn't hear them at all by ear and even the amplified microphone could only detect very faint mumblings, so I started to feel a bit deflated. However, after a while I heard the door open again and they walked along the corridor past my room, heading to the bar for food. It was time for me to eat too so I followed.
I was able to get a good look at them. He was a tall guy in his early thirties who sported a clean but scruffy look – you know, designer stubble, long hair, knitted grey skull cap hat, long sleeved sweatshirt and jeans (his height is worth noting in view of what was to follow). She was a good deal shorter and similar slim build, similar age with short dark hair, a red long sleeved pullover and jeans. She had a clip in her hair with a silk yellow flower and looked very nice. Initially she had her back to me but after a while I was able to see she had fairly large C/D cup breasts.
They had a drink at the bar before ordering their food and their slow pace gave me plenty of time to order and finish my meal first. The hotel was quite busy and while I was down there I noticed another couple heading through reception towards the gym…. but that's a story for a later posting

For this thread suffice to say I was able to get back to my room 20 or 30 minutes before my neighbours.When they arrived I put a USB in place outside their door, but I wasn't optimistic about this because as before, they were extremely quiet neighbours. In fact I was all but giving up when I heard the sound of water running. I was fortunate to be in a room with a bathroom that was adjacent to theirs, so I quickly set up the microphone against the adjoining wall. This was not as easy as it might sound, involving propping the ironing board against taps so it leaned against the wall and held the microphone in place, but after a couple of minutes it was reasonably stable and connected up to my PC so I could record via Audacity.
And here's what I got:
Honestly, I wasn't expecting this. As they were so quiet I thought I might have recorded a bit of talking or if I was really lucky I might have heard them showering. But bath sex?
Now, I would ask you to try to visualise the mechanics of the action here. Holiday Inn baths are not large at all and he was a tall guy, maybe 6'4". Anyone who's ever tried a session of bath sex in a standard UK bathtub will know that it's not all that easy to achieve within the confined space available, and the bath here was even smaller than UK standard. In my own experience, the only time I have ever become physically stuck in position during the act was in a small bathtub, and it took us ages and a lot of effort to escape! But the sounds and the pace of this session say to me she was the one on top, which I have found to be the most effective solution myself. I must say though, I give them 10 out of 10 for their efforts.
There were no other sounds from them over the rest of the night until I heard them leave the next morning, and the USB failed to get anything either. In view of what I was able to capture though, I'm happy to forgive them for otherwise being so quiet.
So, have I made the first hotel sound capture in a UK bathtub?

. By golly they were an active coupling too, three sessions in one evening plus a shower the next morning.
