Judging from the amount it ducks out every time there's a kick drum, that must have been sooooo fuckin bassy. I dunno whether you've limited this afterward or whether you're recording down to a device with some sort of limitor or AGC inbuilt, but if its the latter you could switch that function off and record at a lower level... would probably give you a bit more luck when tidying up. Of course there might not be the option to disable it, and I'm not sure how you'd cope without seeing the peak meters either, but its just a thought.
Either way, it doesn't ruin the content, and I'm still lookin forward to the 2nd half. Thanks for sharing man!

One of the reasons I use the MZR50 is that it has dedicated switches for a number of functions. Notably, I can disable/enable AGC, kick in a VOX circuit or not, etc.
Another thing I like about it is that setting levels is a relative breeze, even without seeing the VU meters. I place the unit into REC/Pause, then use the FF (volume up) or REW (level down) to adjust the input levels, which I monitor through headphones. Simple.
Problem with this particular party is that the DJ was frigging deaf. Or soon will be. Levels I had set prior to entering the room with the lady were blown all to hell when he pushed the system to around 130 dB/m. No exagerration.
I need to buy a bass roll-off filter to go inline between condenser mics and minidisc recorder.
About the lady: Yes, she is as hot as s\he looks. Here's my best description. I do have a photo but don't want to post it, as I'm also in the picture. PM me. She's about 55 kg., 162 cm.
