I have a ordered these USB RECORDER from Amazon.

what is the best position for placing this stick an a door? upper Doorframe ?!
Which side is the micophone facing? i can't see any openings on this stick.

on these style in general, the microphone hole is where the light hole is.
You want that hole if possible facing the source of the sound. If there is a gap under the door, you would want to try to face the microphone pointing under the door frame. if there is no gap and no hole in the door, you want to try to get it as close to the sound source as possible.
I just got one of these style i'm going to take it apart and see if I can disconnect the LED light and figure out exactly where the microphone is.

I recommend covering the USB in either black or white electrical tape - leaving a tiny hole for the microphone. The white ones are very hard to see when placed on top of a door frame (I got this suggestion from Gekko). The black ones often blend in with the carpet in shady spots on the floor by doors.
