First Attempt of the Year

The house next door to me is multi-let and last September a girl moved into the back bedroom. I’ve only had a brief sighting of her, but from that I would say she’s about 18/19, medium height, quite slim and fairly attractive. As the tenants cook in their rooms and maybe smoke, the windows are often open. After she moved in I must have recorded hundreds of hours in September/October, but got nothing! The winter then set in so the window was closed.

Just over a week ago, it was quite mild and I noticed her window was open. Not very optimistically, I put a USB on a hanging basket bracket that’s about two metres from her window. I went out a couple of times to check and her window was still open, but after a couple of hours of recording it had been almost closed with only a very small gap open. I almost retrieved the USB then, but left it recording overnight and am glad I did, because at about 3.30 am there was some action!

It’s a bit quiet and there are no ‘fireworks’ but finally I had sex! I’ve tried quite a few times since, but got nothing, although I am hoping for better luck if the weather keeps improving. Anyway here’s what I got on the very first attempt of the year.

I did initially forget to say I cut out the noisier background noises and in view of Voyeuristic's comments I've done a quick N.R. version for those who prefer it. Anyone wants the wav version to do a better job, message me.

Thanks for the comment. Most of the background noise is distant traffic etc. When I go out back on a calm night it seems so tranquil and quiet to my ears. When I later listen to any recordings it amazes me how much noise was going on! At times it includes noisy kids, drunken BBQers, barking dogs, boy racers, police sirens, easy jet planes and even fireworks!

Absolutely great recording. Yes there are the cherries in the pie. The man hours walking around outside till 01:30 dropping mics eventhough you have no idea someone from a house opposite is actually watching you behaving suspicious, and you know you have to get up again at 06:00; all worth it when you catch something like this.

Thanks for the comment, also the encouragement and I understand exactly what you're talking about. With me the time factor tends to be a bit different, as I leave the USBs all night in the hope of catching some action. The big time factor then comes with looking through 12 or more hours of audio, to see if there is any. I say looking, as I use Spectral Display in Audition. I've still got 8 hours to check from last night!

Not optimistic though, as since this catch, I've recorded most nights, but drawn a blank. I'll keep trying though
